What's new

Snow!

Got home from seeing Avatar & spent two hours clearing the driveway from the two feet of snow that fell during the movie. It's still coming down, so I think I'll be shoveling another foot or so when I get up in the morning.

We've had snow since mid-November. Not a lot, though, perhaps twenty centimetres.

Up in the mountains, on the other hand, they've had a metre for weeks already. I hope we get a massive snowfall soon as well. It's just lovely when it falls down like that.

Bugger! All that reached us in the now sunny Southend was rain! Which is no real help because of the cold. Everything has gotten extremely icy now...

No sexy snow shots (photos) for me then... Damn being at work on Friday!!!

Hate the pissing stuff, it can go away as far as I'm concerned!

I agree, we have the same problems here when it starts to snow. You are virtually cut off from everywhere because most places shut, public transport stops running and we have no gritters for the roads so its impossible to go anywhere. Plus its bloody freezing which I can't stand. I'd much prefer a warm climate all year.

We had a small bit of Friday but its just been frosty over the weekend. At least the sun in shining today and hopefully the snow stays away.

Yeah,we got rain last night, and then it all froze, and now there's just sheet ice everywhere,it's bloody lethel out there.

I've just walked up the road to get a newspaper, and skidded really badly, thought I was going to go over, but managed to stay upright somehow. The worst thing is,it was right in front of somebody, and I'm sure they wanted to laugh.

Yep I have just seen a car try and get up our car park and give up, her rear wheels were just spinning.

And now a van got stuck.

Just went into town, it's like a ice rink lost count the number of times I nearly fell over.

A lady got stuck in a powered wheel chair on the ice Mark had to push her.

We've only got some ice left. Walked back from ASDA today and some little girl was on her bike and slipped on the black ice. I heard the crying first though and then saw her dad run towards her trying not to slip himself. Haven't seen any snow since Friday though.

Drove my car into a wall the other day, tapped brakes - game over, :D

Expensive school boy error!

I love it when it snows, when I was at school, because I travelled on the school bus, the school used to let me come home. :--D

One time my freind's and I didn't want to go to school, so in the bus we were singing at the top of our voices '' let it snow, let it snow, let it snow'' and when it did snow the school let us go home

We've just had about 3 or 4 hours of heavy snow and Reading's pretty much completely broken down. It's crazy haha!

Luckily, I'm nice and warm in my house. The snow can go now there is no school to be closed. :p

Stafford never seems to get snow.

Well, at least I was away this weekend, just 15 miles or so from Manchester airport where I hear they've had a drop or two of the white stuff.

Nope, apparently wherever I go, there will be very little snow. It seems to be I only reside in places that are too hot for snow to settle.

So I've still not really seen a great deal - it was pigging icy this morning though driving into St. Helens.

been like this, and gradually getting worse over the past 4 days or so, its awesome. What a way to spend Christmas away from uni :)

We just got a small sprinkle last night, it's mainly just severe frost here at the moment. The roads are bad enough as it is and I'm not used to driving on icy roads. I got quite a nasty surprise earlier when the scar just started skidding all over the place!
