The Best FIFA ever is...

With teenage boys creaming themselves at the prospect of playing just another churned out rendition of FIFA at midnight tonight, I wonder what people think is the "best" in the series? (As there has been one every year since '93, I haven't bothered with a poll).

You might base it on game play, music, ease of use...whatever. Heck, even if you hate it, spill your reasons here...

Personally, FIFA '04 was the best - best music, best game play and just made of win.

I haven't bought it since 2007 as it's just the same each year, with only minimalistic changes which really don't constitute me spending £30-£40 on it...

Conventional FIFA? 2001 by a MILE!

Any FIFA branded game? Manager 2006 - AMAZING stuff! Just a bit too complicated so didn't catch on to casual gamers

I seem to remember Fifa Road to 98 was awesome! Could have a indoor 5 a side game.

Fifa 2009 was really good, what made me swap from PES to Fifa, the slick passing, great free kick abilities, shooting etc. Great manager mode.

Yes! That was mega. Scoring ridiculous goals from rebounds off the walls.

Haha, damn, I'd forgotten all about that!

Do you play online?

If so, the last comment is utterly redundant, as the most fun I've had on any game has been playing clubs online with mates. The introduction of VP's last year was a brilliant idea, and with it being harder to max them out this year it should be even better.

The soundtracks were always pretty good.

I remember having 2001 or something and it had Flight 643 by Tiesto on it. Quality.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but '07 was the first which introduced online play on EA's "reliable" servers? I have played it online since, and there is hardly much difference in my opinion that has made me feel like spending excessive amounts once again.

Yeah that was epic, also they had around 170? international teams there, so you could play games like Eritrea-Western Samoa

Also I liked Fifa 2004 quite a bit.
After 2005 I've only played PES, but judging from what I've heard incl. reviews, I'm thinking of switching back to Fifa (maybe should've done it a year or two earlier).

Some lad had a fifa soundtracks website in advertisements on here.

I notice advertisements has been cleaned up but using the power of google, it was apparently fifa 2002...

Wouldn't know to be honest Ciall, I was a PES man up until 08. And honestly, there are features worth buying the game for if you have a few friends who play it online. Clubs mode is gob smackingly brilliant fun.
