The Change: Parks going down-hill/up-hill

Yeah but that's nothing compared to opening hours of 11-5 with rides not fully opening until 11.45 roughly I think it was.

Meh, it's double-edged sword, the park was stupidly quiet to the extent that the only queue was waiting for PMBO to open in the morning, there was two or three rides we went on where we were actually thanked because we were the only people going on them all day and it gave the op's something to do (some of the smaller rides like Blue Flyer and Eddie Stobarts). Would probably make more sense to cut the season short early midweek and just focus on extended opening hours and improved operations at weekends. There's rumours about certain rides not even opening midweek late in the season next year, because that's a sure fire way to increase visitor numbers.

Although that said, pre-visit I was worried about getting all the rides in in that six hour period, in reality we left the park early because we were bored, cold and my gf was fed up of being smashed side to side (giggity) on some of the rides.

I daresay Flamingo Land is on the up, it's bizarre to see such a bright and colourful park up Norf, let alone somewhere where there's rarely anything other than rain. If it were about an hour further south, it'd probably be far more popular nationally, probably just behind Alton, Thorpe and Blackpool. Don't think there's another park in the UK that has matched their relative level of investment, their ride line-up whilst not 'top' quality is nearly all fresh and modern.

I have been going to my home park annually since 1972, and while I still get filled with joy each visit each summer over all these years, I feel the park has lost its luster that it once had. it's slowly growing but not really thriving if that makes any sense.
