?Most Inversion: Alpengeist (9)
Hah, good flag. Have now discovered/realized my top inversion sorter is somehow indexing all wrong. Tweaked the immediate answer - Steel Curtain.
Oh, I think it definitely is very long, but all the stats say it's exactly 2000 meters. I find that very unlikely. Anywhere between 1900 and 2100, sure, but not exactly 2000.Out of interest, what makes you doubt Formula Rossa’s track length @Pokemaniac?
Not questioning you by any means, but I know the duration isn’t the longest, but surely the 150mph speed and element sizes that requires make the track length obscene regardless? In terms of layout type and size, it’s almost a slightly longer Rita (the big hill at the start and bunny hops at the end add additional length, and the figure 8 in the middle is similar), and that ride is 68ft tall, reaches 61mph and is a little over 2,000ft long. Rossa is 170ft (I think?) and 149mph, which given its speed and height boosts over Rita, as well as its duration boost, would make the quoted 6,500ft (I think that’s about 2km in imperial?) length make sense.
Just thinking through this and all the other answers - none of these record-breaking coasters are anywhere near my favourite coasters in the world, and I get the sense that’s true for most people.Similar to quite a few people:
Tallest: Kingda Ka
Fastest: Kingda Ka
Longest: The Ultimate
Steepest: Mumbo Jumbo
Inversions: The Smiler
Oldest: Rutschebanan
The only one of the record holders that I've done that is anywhere near a Top 20 is Formula Rossa (#18 for me). The launch and speed throughout that ride is genuinely stunning.Just thinking through this and all the other answers - none of these record-breaking coasters are anywhere near my favourite coasters in the world, and I get the sense that’s true for most people.
