What's new

The Games we play...

^Aww that sucks.
Anyway. I'm probably not going to get any new games for a while now as I need to do some serious saving.
I'm crap at saving though so will probably end up getting some anyway but only old games that have a stupidly good price tag on them.

^Indeed. Halo is so hyped up and as soon as you realise it's failure you've lost £50 and about 2 days off your life. :p

Good job i got my copy for £15, then sold it to my cousins for that price.

They loved it for about a week and now spazz out about COD.

And I love Dungeon Keeper 2.

I beat Halo in about six hours. It's a great story as a whole, but it's too short and very trite. Multiplayer(not live) is good though.

Urgh. I'm having an argument with some spaz who thinks that the X-BOX Elites are immune from the RROD. I've sent him loads of links and kicked his ass in giving him proof but he fails to realise that he's wrong.

I've never said the PS3 is immune to everything. But it's a hell of a lot more secure than the 360 and has better hardware.

Anyway it's double XP weekend on CoD:WaW so I've just used it to my advantage to jump up a few levels.
Also, don't know how new this is but if you put certain words in your clan name it changes the way your name appears.

For example:

Rain - will make you name letters flash in different colours.
Cyln - Will scroll a colour through the letters one by one.
.... - Will make the number 0 jump around in your clan name space.

There are a few more but I haven't worked them out yet.

Wow, you could cut the fanboy-ism with a knife.

Besides Oliver, hardware means **** all, yes the PS3 may be less prone to problems, but the 360 is better, imo. It's courses for horses.

Well anyways... my xbox disc drive doesnt work at all, I thought turning it off and letting it cool overnight might somehow make it work, well the disc can read the discs, but it gets to a certain point then just dies :roll: so i'm stuck as to what to do. It's gonna either be;

1. Call Microsoft and see how much it's gonna cost to repair.

2. Somehow bring on the RRoD to get it repaired for free.

3. Buy a arcade xbox but use my old controllers, HDD etc.

Decisions... Decisions....

I asked my sister to order 3 games from Play.com

Evil Twin: Cyprien's Chronicles
Killer 7

And FFV.

£25 quid for all 3 ain't too bad.

If hardware means bugger all then carry on playing a broken console that crashes, freezes and brakes. And pay for it with your annual subscription for a machine that you can't play half the time due to it being bust.

*Sits and plays PS3 without any problems* :)

Anyway even though I always stab and pick on the 360 (because it's damn good fun). It's still a good console with a couple of good games (gears and left for dead come to mind). Although I was originally an X-Box fan before I even considered a PS3, it messed up and played up continuously and I had just had enough. You'd think that the RROD would be one of the first things they'd make a patch for, but years later and all they care about is making too many games to say "look how many games we have made for this console".

I've had my PS3 for over a year now and it hasn't crashed, frozen or messed up once and it runs quickly, quietly (unlike 360 :p) and efficiently.

Of course which console you like best depends on personal taste and everyone is entitled to get which one they want.

Extra Note: I'd advise not to respond to me bashing the X-Box as I don't want to start another console argument. And I find it impossibly hard not to respond to people trying to pretend that all the hardware failures doesn't bother them. :)

Well thats a bit OTT, this is the second time anything has happened in THREE years, it's bound to suffer due to general usage. Also I'd rather pay 40 quid a year for an online service that is actually good and reliable.

The RRoD is a hardware failure, so a patch wouldn't solve anything and anyways Microsoft have started using a new Falcon motherboard and processor which is less prone to hardware failure, thanks

Then why has my PS3 crashed more than my 360 on more than one game and in the XMB?

Why did Pierre's Hard drive(?) break and if remember correctly take ages for a replacement console which broke again?

Why the Yellow light of death?

Why did you start ANOTHER argument when you asked for them to stop last time?

Edit:- LOL AT OLLIE THINKING RROD IS SOFTWARE!

I got the flashing red light on my first one, the replacement one they sent had a corrupt HDD, the third one is fine.... for now ^.^

However I did only just get COD4 back on Wednesday, they took two months to send that bad boy back.

The kid's 360 got the RRoD last July, but mine hasn't. I purchased my 360 at the midnight event the day they were released, so it has all the original (supposed problematic) parts. The kid bought his that X-Mas (yes - he had to buy his own because I thought 1 was enough), but they sent him a replacement in July so he could have the better chip set. Anyway, my point is that we've had our 360s for quite some time & only had 1 RRoD. I guess I've been very lucky or others have been extremely unlucky.

We got LOTR: Conquest last night & the kid's been playing it for a few hours. He's already played through the campaign as the good guys & again as the evil ones. He's also already gotten over half of the achievements, so I hope I haven't wasted $30 buying the game. He hasn't played any multiplayer yet, so I'll have to wait & see how that goes.

I have a 360 and a PS3 now and theres **** all between them.

Its nice to have a Blu-ray player on the PS3 and its not as noisy but thats about it.

Anyways I have been playing NFS:Undercover, its quite good and similar to Most Wanted which is good as Pro street sucked majorly.

COD:WAW online co-operative with your friends is good aswell, although it gets annoying when you have to keep reviving people

I also got LBP thats fun online and I got Kane & Lynch for £5, its quite good not played it that much though.
