Well at least there aren't that many screens :p I'd like to go on it as a taster for HHN as it doesn't look too scary :)

Re: The Walking Dead Attraction at USH & MPG (page 2)

HHN is far from scary to be fair. It's stunning and just vast as an event, but far from scary!

It really doesn't look good? Theming looks great, but that's about it…

Doesn't look too great from that video does it? - Obviously videos don't do these things any justice at all, but it just looked like a HHN maze with more permanent sets but less actors.

Should have bought that Sally dark ride?

After The Mummy, I've always wanted Universal to do another permanent scary attraction. Though not a walkthrough and certainly not this IP. Imagine an IoA-style land dedicated to the Classic Universal monsters <3

Don't they also have some other horror walkthrough that is just an incoherent mash of a plethora of horror movies? Or has that been removed?

As for the scare walkthroughs in general, my favorite so far is Tibidabo's Hotel Krüeger. Is there any other permanent scare attraction similar to it? :)

It was removed to compensate for the addition of this to the park's line up.

Hotel Krüeger is fab - as it was an original attraction by Master Production Europe (MPE Europe), which shot to popularity in the early 90's, there's quite a lot of these attractions across the world similar in style to HK. Pasaje del Terror at Pleasure Beach being one of them. Sadly, parks have started to retheme a lot of them as they're dated in concept, and have whacked on a **** IP like Parque de Atracciones in Madrid did with their El Caseron Viejo (now The Walking Dead).

There's a lot of other fantastic permanent scare attractions in Europe though - namely Hotel Ghost Gasten, Manormortis, The House of Fear, Labirinto Lisboa, The London Bridge Experience & London Tombs, Krake Lebt, Legends of Dead Town, Horror West: El Pueblo Maldito and many more.

The scary version of Krake Lebt unfortunately no longer exists :( It's a kiddie story time thing now.

These Walkthrough Dead attractions don't do much for me. I can't help but wonder how long this IP will stay relevant too.

Tbf Walking Dead is one of the biggest and most popular shows on television ATM, probably only eclipsed in terms of relevance by Game of Thrones.

Its popularity will remain for at least the life of a standard walkthrough.

To answer the question about the other permanent walkthrough, that's gone. I did it on my visit in summer 2014, and it closed a week or so later. It was decent enough though.

Walking Dead is an excellent choice given the popularity of the series. It's, what, 6 series in and hasn't dropped in popularity.

The vast majority of guests don't care that it might be unimaginative in terms of a scare attraction. It has to be accessible to a mass market, and that mass market want something recognisable, atmospheric with a few jump scares to make them giggle. It's at a theme park, not a scare event. Not everything has to push boundaries; it would alienate a huge part of the audience here.
