The "What If?" Thread

I want to answer what-if scenarios based off theme parks!

Examples:

What if ___ got the theme park rights to ___ in ___?

What if (planned ride/section) was made for ___?

What if ___ bought ___ in ____?

If you want a quick response then you'd be better off posting something like this on r/rollercoasters or in a coaster discord server. This sort of stuff would probably be more suited to those too.

It's very difficult to add anything useful to a "what if" thread. We've had a good few in the past, and they get very little engagement, because I (and everyone else) have no idea what to add to it.

I'll show you why it's difficult - "What if Merlin never bought Thorpe Park". You could say ANYTHING.
Scenario A: They build a dive coaster in 2013, they build a wooden coaster in 2017, they get a new flat ride package from HUSS, they clone Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man and theme it to Doctor Who.
Scenario B: Tussauds maintenance fails to maintain Colossus properly and it derails in 2012. The park gets sued into oblivion and closes down and the whole place is sold off to become a landfill site. Nemesis Inferno goes to Walibi Rhone-Alpes and Saw goes to Italy. Tussauds is bought by the royal family who stand down from monarchy to enter the entertainment business. The UK falls into a dictatorship.
Scenario C: Universal buys the park instead. They theme Colossus to Waterworld and build an Intamin launch coaster themed to Back to the Future. Chessington closes forever.

The theme park industry is an extremely unpredictable market. Too unpredictable for me to have anything to say. Everyone all has their own ideas of what might happen in alternate universes.
