Sorry guys, but Capello will start Green against Algeria. If he doesn't, then he might as well send him back to England.
Although it wasn't as epic as Green's blunder, Chaouchi definitely should have stopped Koren's goal but I also blame Ghezzal for Algeria's loss to Slovenia. Three red cards in three games in one day & all three teams who went down a man lost.
Slovakia actually played better after Lukovic went out, but I expected a lot more from the likes of Pantelic, Zigic & Vidic. Although Kuzmanovic's hand ball was just stupid, I've got to give it to Ghana for playing better than I expected without Essien.
I don't think Cahill's early departure had any effect on the outcome of the Germany game. Deutschland played solid all around & could have scored 5 or 6 if Low hadn't brought on Gomez or let Cacau start instead of Klose. All Gomez did was rob Cacau of scoring opportunities, but at least Klose got the confidence boost he desperately needed.
What a day Friday will be!
Serbia will have it all to do against the Germans, as will Slovenia against us Yanks. England should roll over Algeria, which will put them out of the tournament. If the USA can beat Slovania, which they should, then we could actually have the upper hand at finishing top of the group. England, Slovenia & the U.S. could all head into the final day of group play with one win under their belts. Slovenia will be playing for their lives against England, as they will be a point behind, while the Americans will be playing against a devastated & unmotivated Algeria side. If the Yanks can pile on the goals, it could make all the difference in avoiding Germany in the next round.
My predictions:
Holland 2, Denmark 0
Japan 1, Cameroon 1
Italy 2, Paraguay 0
