Dang! How many parks did you hit in the last two weeks??

In my two rides, I enjoyed the first one more, in the back, compared to the front, which is the opposite of most RMC I have ridden.
Last week I rode Wicked Cyclone and Boulder Dash (ok, not RMC) for the first time, and I was surprised to find that the front seat was the best for me on both.

This was unexpected, to say the least. However, Rollin' Thunder in the back is just insanity; I loved it. And, yes, I did just rank a Zamperla coaster over an RMC. New one in bold.

  1. Lightning Rod
  2. X2
  3. Voyage
  4. Outlaw Run
  5. Fury 325
  6. Millennium Force
  7. Kumba

Interesting you say that - I've never got the impression that Thunderbolt was particularly well loved.

I gather it wasn't as rough as the original?

^ I've never ridden Thunderbolt, so I can't really say. This was certainly rough but not too bad really, and they updated the restraints which seemed to really help the ride. I'll explain what I liked so much about it in the trip report.

New in bold

1. Maverick
2. Diamondback
3. Mystic Timbers
4. Apollo's Chariot
5. Griffon

7. Beast
8. Banshee
9.Flight of Fear @KI

Once again, New in bold. Just a few days ago I finished up CP.
1. Maverick
2.Millennium Force. I can see why some call it "Millennium Forceless". However, forces don't even matter to me in this ride, it's just straight up fun! The airtime is pretty good, (not as good as Maverick), and the drop, overbanks, and speed are amazing! Ya, this ride itself is a bit overrated, but it is just really fun!
3. Mystic Timbers (Hey, technically you moved up, but at the same time you were just in the same spot.
4. Diamondback
5. Top Thrill Dragster. Gosh dang it WHY DOES THIS RIDE HAVE TO BE SO SHORT!! It was insane! I would've placed it higher but it is just WAY TOO SHORT! (And yes, I have conquered my fear of heights)
6. Apollo's Chariot
7. Griffon
8. Banshee
9. Firehawk
10. Beast

Yeah, Flying Aces is great, good call. Although I possibly wouldn't put it about X2.

Did you ride recently? I think it's even more insane during the summer months as the temperature change is so big when the shutter opens and you zoom out onto the lift.

Yeah, I've done it in late July. I believe the temperature was about 44°C when I was riding it. Crazy.
About X2, though. It's been almost 6 years since my one and only ride on it. I remember it being pretty much the craziest ride experience for me back then, but that was before I became a proper enthusiast, so I have a bit of a struggle comparing the more recently ridden coasters with it.

Yeah, that must have been about the time of my first visit last year. Really bonkers!

You raise the ever more difficult point of comparing a coaster you rode a number of years ago to a new one. I've not sorted it in my head yet, either.

I know it's a dumb thing to say, but Flying Aces looked very underwhelming in a pov. Glad it has a positive reception. How would you rate the airtime compared to other intamins?

I mean, it's nothing like Skyrush (it just doesn't quite have that non-stop airtime), but the hills are pretty good ejector for the most part. The drop is great, and there are a couple of good hills. The non-inverting loop has some pretty strange forces in it too.

1) Voyage
2) Goliath(GAm)
3) Skyrush
4) Maverick
5) Viper(GAm)
6) Outlaw Run
7) Thunderhead
8) Superman: Ride of Steel(SFA)
9) Top Thrill Dragster
10) Lightning Run
11) Thunderbird(HW)
12) The Monster
13) X-Flight(GAm)
14) Raven
15) Powder Keg
16) Outlaw(AL)
17) Batman: The Ride
18) Fahrenheit
19) White Lightning
20) American Eagle Red

After a fair few rides throughout the summer, Joker moved down a bit, Eagle moved up into my Top 20, and Viper somehow surprised me even more than before. Viper Backwards is an absolute beast.

Boulder Dash is so much fun. I also rode it for the first time this season. Did you ride it enough times to determine a row preference?

Yes! The back seat was just wild, and I loved it. However, the front seat really showcases my favorite part of the ride: the beautiful environment. It's just amazing speeding through those trees with all that airtime.

Exactly! I was a bit surprised to find that the front row was by far the best for me. My old mindset is to assume that the back rows are probably the best on woodies and airtime machines, but for some reason this has really been the season for me of finding better front row rides. I could make a long list of coasters that surprised me this way this season.
