Top Rides in the UK

Valhalla is GOD awful. We have NO good water rides. Saying Valhalla is the best British water ride is the equivalent of saying "Testicular cancer's the cancer you want". You don't want any of them, really. And the same goes for our water rides - they are all <img>!

Our best coaster, I would say, is the Ultimate. Then Oblivion and Rita.

For Drop Towers I'd go with Apocalypse, Detonator or Venom at West Midlands Safari Park (though, I don't think anyone at the Live was THAT impressed with it, so it may have gone a bit downhill since I rode it).

For flats, I'd probably go with... uh... Eagle's Claw?

Rita, Alton's worst grown up coaster (including powered coaster), is the UKs third best ride?

Valhalla, which, when it is working properly, and baring the first couple of scnes, is stunning, is somehow "GOD awfull"?

Bollocks.

There is one significant flat ride which is Ripsaw

Ripsaw is incredibly disapointing. Enterprise is the best flat at AT.

Flamingo Land is good for flats-Navigator is surprisingly good, Flip FLop is amazing and Cliff Hanger is mind-blowing. I went for days in the summer and it was always on combo-mode, and pulling out after the drop nudges 5Gs for certain.

Best bet, depending on what you are looking for, is Nemesis at AT, either Grand National (BPB) or Megafobia(Oakwood), or The Ultimate (LWV). BPB has a couple of others woth looking at if you like that kind of ride, such as Wild Mouse or Irn Bru Revolution. PMBO is not as good as you may expect. The experience is great, but as a ride, not the best.

Jubilee Odyssey is up there. The only 2 rides that deserve a mention in UK's top rides at Alton are; Nemesis & Oblivion.

Does anybody Know of some Great Rides in the UK?

Aside from usual greats, which I cannot be bothered to list as they are obvious, I think these deserve a mention as well.

Waterfall, Oakwood.

Cliffhanger, Flamingoland (if running shot & drop).

Jumpin Bean, Paultons Park
(I've never experinced so much willy lift on any UK ride)

I think they are three gems that people forget about 'cus it all seems to be about coasters nowadays.

A few people, like myself have mentioned Cliff Hanger.

It's a fantastic ride with crushing Gs and fantastic air time.

Officially, it's air, but because it is a name, it is supposed to be written as Air, which makes more sence.

I'm surprised there's not been more mention of Megafobia, for me the best UK Coaster. Not in terms of how scary it is, but it's such a fun ride, which I enjoy more every time I ride it.

The launch on Stealth is also pretty good, and again the Ultimate is worth a ride.

If you bring flat rides into it, Vertigo at Oakwood is incredible, but expensive for a ride on (I got a free go last week when down there filming for the TV ad!)

Air has been running amazingly lately, the section on your back is just as intense as anything on Nemesis ir Oblivion now. It's back in my top 3 now, it is amazing, better than ever before, and my first ride will always have a special place in my heart as it was the first trully big ride I went on, but now it is even better than that.
