USJ | Flying Dinosaur | B&M Flying Coaster

Here's a nice little recreation of the layout.

That little hill could be amazing.

I've always thought flyers should do floater hills....It would recreate the sensation of being shot out of a human cannon.

I don't how accurate the video is but that looks like a steep first drop for a flyer, but I think the pretzel loop diving under the bridge and mini hill following it are my favourites. I also like the inline twist at the end which felt like a surprise on the video.

Will this ride predominately dance over the River Adventure? If so I hope the trains are adequately themed, because I think they could pull off having large coaster looming over such a highly themed ride without it devaluing the ride experience too much. :/

For the inversion count, why wouldn't you just call it the number of times your head points down (or sufficiently close to straight down)? That's a property of the track, not rotating seats like a 4D coaster. This method breaks down for 4D coasters (unless you count the 4D spin, which I would), but it makes sense to me for the flyers.

The recreation looks pretty cool. I like the pretzel loop diving into a tunnel.

I'm surprised this hasn't been posted yet:

Clever to use a Jurassic World scene really. The video also gives March 18th as the opening date. Can't be arsed to scroll back to see if we knew that already.

That trailer is so fab and brutal haha.

Nothing like getting casually murdered by a dinosaur to get you excited.

Roll on September <3

^Haha! I was thinking the same; most of the other flyers have a gentle "simulate flight" theme, while this one will have "get ravished by a pterodactyl" :p

I know, they're reptiles aren't they? If I remember correctly? But at the end of the day, they've gone with the whole 'Jurassic Park' concept, and it fits for mass marketing. It sounds better than 'The Flying Reptile', although, that name is probably already taken in a **** translation somewhere

From good 'ol Wikipedia:

Pterosaurs (/ˈtɛrəˌsɔːr, ˈtɛroʊ-/;[2][3] meaning "winged lizard") were flying reptiles of the clade or order Pterosauria. They existed from the late Triassic to the end of the Cretaceous Period (228 to 66 million years ago[4]). Pterosaurs are the earliest vertebrates known to have evolved powered flight. Their wings were formed by a membrane of skin, muscle, and other tissues stretching from the ankles to a dramatically lengthened fourth finger.[5] Early species had long, fully toothed jaws and long tails, while later forms had a highly reduced tail, and some lacked teeth. Many sported furry coats made up of hair-like filaments known as pycnofibers, which covered their bodies and parts of their wings. Pterosaurs spanned a wide range of adult sizes, from the very small Nemicolopterus to the largest known flying creatures of all time, including Quetzalcoatlus and Hatzegopteryx.[6][7][8]

Pterosaurs are often referred to in the popular media and by the general public as flying dinosaurs, but this is scientifically incorrect. The term "dinosaur" is restricted to just those reptiles descended from the last common ancestor of the groups Saurischia and Ornithischia (clade Dinosauria, which includes birds), and current scientific consensus is that this group excludes the pterosaurs, as well as the various groups of extinct marine reptiles, such as ichthyosaurs, plesiosaurs, and mosasaurs.[9] Like the dinosaurs, and unlike these other reptiles, pterosaurs are more closely related to birds than to crocodiles or any other living reptile. Pterosaurs are also colloquially referred to as pterodactyls, particularly by journalists.[10] Technically, "Pterodactyl" refers only to members of the genus Pterodactylus,[11] and more broadly to members of the suborder Pterodactyloidea of the pterosaurs.[12][13]

Yeah, they're reptiles. As Lofty said, Flying Reptile sounds more of a Chinese-English translation error than anything.

First test POV is now online!

Talk about an imposing layout. Really excited to see more of this coaster in action.

Hyde! I thought the rules say that you're not allowed to show porn on here!

But seriously, this looks fantastic. If they have some fog and some more theming in some places, this will be the best thing(coaster wise) in Asia.
