Warner Bros Movie World | Various New Vekomas & relocated Intamin | 2024

Something is definitely happening inside of Superman;

A couple other interesting tidbits. There was a comment on that page claiming that an employee was in turn claiming that they were adding a new "Flash themed skateboard ride". Not much that needs to be explained here, skateboard ride is a solid indicator and a high-profile, box-office-risk movie is releasing in June. Meanwhile the Bybees also took a field trip down under last month and - lord bless their sweet innocent souls - gave us a look at what is almost definitely a Surfrider car in the maintenance area. It's likely spent some time in storage there, while the surfboard itself has been sitting at the back of the park for a long time now. Not unusual activity since it's frequently been under maintenance at park warehouses, but still cool to see;

Had heard something that the old Surfrider from wet n wild was to be relocated possibly to Sea World. All 3 parks are owned by same company so entirely plausible it's on its way next door instead.

Yeah, that's all the confirmation I need. Perfectly matches Surfrider's touchdown pattern.

Lots of updates from the park down under and their four new coasters;

The SBF Visa Marvin the Martian Cosmic Boom drop tower was set up and opened pretty quickly;

Wet'n'Wild disassembled the Surfrider overnight and it's currently sitting around in a lot near the park;

Also in that lot are very new pieces of purple SFC track and supports, fresh from Vekoma. I'm sure that we'll see better photos shortly, but the colours match the Orkanen layout seen in the Wizard of Oz artwork. Solid bet that this will be themed to the Flying Monkeys, no sighting of the duelling Famerangs yet;

Movie World Surfrider remains inevitable, the station platform has been set up within Superman and is currently having electrical work done on it. Coaster supports have not yet been dismantled at Wet'n'Wild. The ride's been sitting unused for a couple of years, it's expected to receive some touchup before it reopens;

Meanwhile more track and supports have arrived for the SFC, they seem to have an affinity for very purple coasters;

The park is currently tendering for trades to work on their "WizKid Coaster Project", with the project budgeted at $10-15 million AUD and including theming elements from Pico Play (have worked on other Australian projects + Japan's Super Nintendo World). Quotes are due June 23, we should see work take off within a few months;

Been awhile since we've had huge updates but the time has come.

A couple of trademarks were filed last month for the coasters. The family boomerangs will be Kansas Twister and the very purple SFC as Flight of the Wicked Witch.

Groundwork has been very very underway but coverage is nonexistent due to the location, so here's the most recent aerial from November 13, 2023;

Flash meanwhile is moving at a snail's pace and there's no indication of it being ready for April. They've disassembled and reassembled it multiple times over the months, obviously a lengthy process to get this coaster back into operation.

Flight of the Wicked Witch and Kansas twister are both more or less confirmed and named, park has been happy to drop the first official concept artwork since the July 2022 announcement;

Plus some funky CAD models of the area. Once again it's impressive that they've fit three in coasters to replace an SFC;

No emerald city just yet, but plenty of rebar;

Moved to Construction and had a go at a concise topic title. Happy to hear alternative suggestions.
