For me it's quality of rides. Quality always beats quantity.
For example, I live near Pensacola, FL which is in the Florida panhandle. I would much rather drive 8 hours to Tampa or Orlando to visit one of those theme parks, which each have nowhere near 8 roller coasters, than drive only 4/5 hours to Wild Adventures in Valdosta, GA. Wild Adventures has 8 coasters, but quality is definitely lacking.
