WTF Merlin?

Maybe that Twitter post is a hint at Merlin purchasing SeaWorld? Or at least the 2 Busch Gardens parks?
It's not.

They've been saying this as a "motto" for years, just someone got bored and wanted to post something on twitter.

"we do believe that those assets (Busch Gardens) are interesting and we could certainly do a lot with them, particularly around accommodation.”

*Gulp*

My general feeling was that they've lost a bit of interest in the resort parks (non-lego) and were mostly keen on expanding the midway and lego sections of the business (lego parks are in a different section to the non-lego parks), the last few years of acquisitions and openings suggest so. Could be wrong.

Nemesis is back to 2 train operation today, with one of them running without wheel covers (source ThemeParkWorldwide on Twitter)

The effects aren't broken, It's just they get turned off every time it breaks down and it needs someone from management to reset the effects.

When I rode Wicker Man a couple of weeks back there were no fire effects in the morning but there were in the afternoon up until ride closure.

That'll explain why they were never on on Sunday then as it broke down every hour... Needs management to reset them? Really!?!? o_O

From an operations standpoint, it would be wiser to keep a broken effect off in order to get more people on the ride instead of having to go down so management can enter the ride area and reset the effects.

Most broken effects aren't fixed until Maintenance comes around the next day to do their daily inspections.

It could be some strange regulations relating to the fire effects. They might need a 'senior' person who's approved to reset the system. Possibly exacerbated by management trying to be extra careful following the Smiler accident - a result of a hasty reset.
