2. Swarm
3. Oblivion
4. Ultimate
5. Dragon's Fury
6. Nemesis Inferno
7. Megafobia
8. Millennium
9. Icon
10. Galactica

Did have to make a change from my previous list since Tornado is no more :(
Means all but one are English though.

I'm currently based in France:

1 - Monster
2 - Yukon Quad
3 - OzIris
4 - Alpina Blitz
5 - Big Thunder Mountain
6 - Wood Express
7 - Timber
8 - Tonnerre de Zeus (hopefully the full rehab will bring it back to its original glory)
9 - Timber Drop
10 - Triops

The recent and upcoming rides will likely upgrade this list (Namazu, Toutatis)

1 - Monster
2 - Yukon Quad
3 - OzIris
4 - Alpina Blitz
I can't say I disagree with 5-onwards, but this is a curious 1-4 ranking.

Monster I can understand - I don't agree, but I can understand. But Alpina Blitz and OzIris behind Yukon Quad? Not sure about that. Show your working. :p

New York (Man this state is NOT great for coasters) (I've not been to RYE also)

1: Bobsleds (Seabreeze)
2: Superman (Darien Lake)
3: Alpine Bobsled (Great Escape)
4: Comet (Great Escape)
5: Predator (Darien Lake)
6: Jack Rabbit (Seabreeze)
7: Tantrum (Darien Lake)
8/9: Motocoaster/Steeplechase (Darien Lake & Luna Park Respectively) (It's the same ride)
10: Silver Comet ((Martin's) Fantasy Island)

Special shoutout to the worst coaster I've ever ridden in the state:

Galaxi (Sylvan Beach) @Hixee knows what I'm talking about and I'm pretty sure you can still find @Antinos's review in one of his old trip threads

2. Nemesis
3. Air / Galactica
4. Wicker Man
5. Grand National
6. Stealth
7. Oblivion
8. Nemesis: Inferno

I got ERT on Yukon Quad with other French goons during opening year. It exceeded my expectations (especially during the second half!) Great raw speed after the second launch. I love the rockbed setting too.

I have unconsistent experiences with OzIris. At occasional times it glides very gracefully - but most often the rides falls flat, achieving neither the aggressive forces of old-school inverts nor the intended smooth flight sensations. Great unique layout and immersive scenery though.

I feel Alpina Blitz has aged comparatively bad. The Mack coaster has developed a slight rattle, and the intensity (while still good) pales when contrasted to the Intamin model - with the notable exception of a better first drop on Alpina.

@Coaster Hipster I think you’re the first person I’ve ever heard say that they prefer the Intamin version over Alpina; most I hear compare them seem to considerably prefer Alpina!

Interesting to hear about the intensity difference as well; I thought that Alpina was nigh on identical to the Intamin Mega-Lites besides the trains?

At the risk of derailing the topic slightly, I wanted to post my controversial France list - keep in mind I've not been to as many French parks (just 45 creds to pick from)

1. Oz Iris (though I agree it's hit & miss!)
2. Rock n Rollercoaster
3. Monster
4. Alpina Blitz (meh)
5. Tonnere de Zeus
6. Wild Train
7. Drakkar
8. Grand Canyon
9. Formule 1
10. Goudirix

(Yes, I do actually rather enjoy their PAX/Soquet family creds as well as the intensity of Goudirix!)

I found Piraten far more intense than Alpina, not sure why, there's just something different about the execution - it's got that raw Intamin feel. Dare I say the Mack trains are too cushy (though I generally proclaim them to be the best thing ever) compared to the ol' T-bars for that particular style of violent experience. Let's not mention the other megalites though...

1 - Nemesis
2 - Oblivion
3 - Wild mouse(BPB)
4 - Saw (yep - I'm weird!)
5 - Nemesis inferno (not as good as the original, but still a great ride)
6 - Rita
7 - Steeplechase
8 - Grand National (not right at the back though) (despite it beating you up!)
9 - Stealth
10- The walking dead (or X after they turned the trains round)

Hi guys. With COVID-19 and its various new variants, and travel restrictions currently in place, it’s looking as though 2021 could be similar to 2020 in seeing quite a bit more coaster riding in our home countries than we’ve perhaps been used to for quite a few years. So I thought it might be quite fun to make a positive out of a negative, and have a bit of appreciation for the coaster lineups in our home countries; my question to you today is, what are your top 10 roller coasters in your home country or state? I say “state” because I know we have quite a few American members on here, and I know the whole of America is massive and as such, probably quite hard to pick 10 coasters from.

I’ll get the ball rolling, then. I live in the UK, and my top 10 UK coasters as of right now are as follows:
  1. Icon
  2. Wicker Man
  3. The Swarm
  4. Stealth
  5. Megafobia
  6. Rita
  7. Oblivion
  8. Nemesis Inferno
  9. Nemesis
  10. Galactica
But what are your top 10 roller coasters in your home country or state?
Now, I updated my rankings recently, and now have a slightly adjusted list. My list is now as follows:
  1. Icon
  2. Wicker Man
  3. Stealth
  4. The Swarm
  5. Rita
  6. Megafobia
  7. Oblivion
  8. Nemesis
  9. Nemesis Inferno
  10. Avalanche (BPB)

Die not went to all parks in Germany

2. Woodan
3. F.L.Y.
4. Blue fire
5. Star Trek
6. Black Mamba
7. Silver Star
8. Colorado Adventure
9. Vanhelsing
10. Bandit (stupid fun rides with friends but this ride sucks actually)

UK lists are so depressing 😖

1 - Nemesis
2 - Stealth
3 - Oblivion
4 - Icon
5 - Swarm
6 - Wild Mouse - RIP
7 - Roller Coaster (Great Yarmouth)
8 - Cobra
9 - Nemesis Inferno
10 - Megafobia

Only the top 3 are anywhere near my top 40 list.

Living north of Atlanta/SFOG, I’m going to modify this a bit and include Dollywood/Pigeon forge area as they’re my second home park and pretty close by.

1) Lightning Rod
2) Thunderhead
3) Goliath
4) Twisted Cyclone
5) Tennessee Tornado
6) Batman
7) Superman
8) Alpine Coaster (at night)
9) Wild Eagle
10) Great American Scream Machine

I live in the UK and here are my top ten coasters:
1. The Smiler at Alton Towers Resort
2. Icon at Blackpool Pleasure Beach
3. Stealth at Thorpe Park
4. Nemesis Inferno at Thorpe Park
5. Nemesis at Alton Towers
6. Galactica at Alton Towers (controversial, I know, but the feeling of flying on his ride makes up for the lack of intensity)
7. Oblivion at Alton Towers
8. The swarm at Thorpe Park
9. Wicker Man at Alton Towers
10. Saw: The Ride at Thorpe Park

First I want to say that I am not that good at ranking coasters, because I like them all for different reasons and therefoere my rankings change constantly, even without riding new coasters or rerides. Though I find ranking coasters fun and will try to do it here:

1. F.L.Y.
2. Flug der Dämonen
3. Expedition Ge-Force
4. Taron
5. Wodan
6. Silver Star
7. Colossos
8. Black Mamba
9. Blue Fire
10. Desert Race

“Siri, what roller coasters are at Cedar Point and Kings Island?”
  1. Steel Vengeance

  4. Top Thrill Dragster
  5. Mystic Timbers
  6. Magnum XL-200
  7. Banshee
