How Do You Keep Your Count?

So I've changed the title of this thread, because I wanted to ask about some other coaster/ride types without making an entirely new thread. So now here's the topic. How do you count your coasters? How many credits do you give racers? Are Zamperla Disk'Os and similar rides counted as...

    LIM vs LSM

You know, we'd have to ask someone who knows better. If you take Maverick vs Wicked Twister, for example, I know they both demand so much power that they each have their own independent power supplies, which are used for those rides and those rides only and aren't tapped into by anything else...

Wildcat @ Hershey Needs to Go

But Lightning Racer has never had to endure PTCs on it. I don't think it'll get that bad. You could remove Wildcat and not replace it with another woodie. You have enough wood in that park.

    Coke V.S Pepsi

I don't know why everyone demands you pick one. I thoroughly enjoy both.

    Favorite Coaster Element?

Geez how did I forget about pretzel loops. Those alone make SUF a great coaster in my book.

Dollywood | Firechaser Express | Gerstlauer Dual Launch

Re: Rumoured Dollywood New 2014 Coaster But isn't everything always the biggest to parks? Like when they made sure you realized that Banshee is the BIGGEST single investment in park history at 24 mil, but it's only 2 mil more than DBack, and several Cedar Point coasters were 25 mil. They just...

    CF Hockey Fans

I really thought the Rangers were gonna kill it this year. When they picked up Rick Nash, to add to what they already had with Brad Richards, Marian Gaborik, and Lundquist in net, I had already decided who was gonna win the cup. Unfortunately your team just didn't produce like they should have.

    LIM vs LSM

I can't get all official on ya cause I'm no expert, but here's what I do know. LIM- Magnet on the track is not always charged, requires a electrical charge. The magnet is charged up during loading/unloading. This type of motor is only capable of providing positive acceleration, and a separate...

    Newton2 Help

I've always looked down upon the use of tools in NoLimits. But after years of frustrating hand building with horrible banking and pump issues, I figured I'd give it a shot. It's a pretty tricky program to use, but I threw something together last night real quick using some tutorials I found on...

Cedar Fair's falling out with Intamin?

I think this Ouimet guy has his head screwed on way straighter than Kinzel did, and finally someone realizes that from a business standpoint Intamin just doesn't make sense. So yes, I would say Cedar Fair has, for the most part, parted ways with Intamin.

SGAM American Eagle Blue to Close August 26

So what does American Eagle have to do with all this then? I mean I know they're fairly close in proximity, but just one side?

How often do you get drunk?

If you had asked me this, this time last year, you would have been asking a drunk. I drank every damn day, outside of work. Anywhere from a 1/2-whole fifth in one night, or 6-12+ beers in a night. Now I drink probably once every other week, if even that often. And it wasn't some "I need to...

    The best of the Giga's?

Haven't been on 305 yet, but Leviathan is way too mean. MF is just a really fast antique car ride. +1 Leviathan.

    Favorite Coaster Element?

Zero-G roll, seated opposite the direction of rotation. eg, roll to the right, sit on the left, roll to the left, sit on the right. I don't know what the science or method to the madness here is, but I've noticed it and I love it.

    Stand-up coasters hurt!

Well it most certainly is always worth it. I'd even ride a TOGO stand-up for another credit. But unfortunately I don't know of any "tricks" around it. Stand-ups will probably always suck; they're all at the bottom of my list. You just gotta endure.

    Past & Present favourite coasters

Re: Past & Present favourite coasters Griffon was my favorite for a while when I visited BGW in 2007, but at that point I had been on about 25 coasters. After my first ever night ride on Beast that took over for a little while. Then Maverick was definitely my favorite for a long time, until...

    Kings Island | Banshee | B&M Invert

Re: Kings Island | "Banshee" | Mahoossive B&M Invert You're not the only one! Great, fun rides, really. But any other B&M model is just so much more versatile. And I haven't heard many people agree with this, but I find the vibration in the seats, especially the outside, really unpleasant.

    CF Hockey Fans

If you're going to CW and you're a hockey fan, you might as well visit the Hockey Hall of Fame while you're there. Did that earlier this summer; hockey and Behemoth/Leviathan in the same day makes for one hell of a good day.

    B&M vs. Intamin

I think when you start throwing things like capacity, reliability, and comfort in the equation, B&M wins this hands down. Intamin's got some killer rides out there, but I like to look at the overall picture. Plus, we have a handful of Intamin rides now that have had to undergo significant...
