The report at http://rideaccidents.com/ says this ride was manufactured in the Czech Republic and most other Freak Out machines are not associated with that manufacturer. Horrible accident, another blot on Funlight's already sketchy safety record...

Re: The Swarm - B&M 'Wing-Rider', Thorpe Park 2012 World's First B&M 4D would be a huge selling point... to enthusiasts. The general public don't know what B&M is (a low-price shop in the midlands?), and if you say 4D they think of pirates.

So a while back they told us we all have BO, now they're saying we all have bad breath. Seriously? I mean, really? What is wrong with Merlin's PR department? How can they possibly see these ridiculous stunts as being good ideas?

It starts to slow down when the duck detaches, I think the operator probably pressed stop fairly quickly but the ride is designed to slow down gradually. If there is an Estop it probably just cuts the power, which would likely leave the ride turning until it lost momentum, so that may be what...
