Blackpool Pleasure Beach | Icon | Mack Multi-Launch

I'm 99% sure I read somewhere that the pattern on the train is 'Zen pebbles' which would fit in with the theme of a Japanese zen garden if so.

I wish. ;)

Although I think if you are smaller and are strapped in more loosely, you could get a lot of airtime.
You get the same amount of airtime as a child as you do if you're a fully grown adult?

Doesn't every Mack mega have this restriction? I'm sure Blue Fire, Helix and Alpina Blitz did?

The train pattern is snakeskin.

ICON is a serpent that been released from the depths of the Earth by a giant sword after a tidal wave hit the land of Blackpool.

Before you say it’s ridiculous, if Alton can have an alien called NEMESIS then Blackpool can have a serpent called ICON.

But that is ridiculous, Nemesis has a theme to back up the story line, with massive amounts of landscaping too. This has a train that looks like old bathroom tiles and next to nothing else.

So is this the official story? It's alright. Got not problem with it. Interesting to see Blackpool create a story for one of their creds.

So is Icon based off the Japanese mythology of Ikuchi?

Just looking up this Ikuchi thing, Sounds a bit like Icon...
INTERACTIONS: When an ikuchi’s path crosses a boat’s, the sea monster envelopes the boat in its tentacle-like body. It slithers over the sides and across the deck, slowly sliding its whole body over the boat. Ikuchi are so long—many kilometers, by some accounts—that it can take hours for an entire one to slither over a boat. On a few occasions, boats have been tangled up in this monster for days. During this time, sailors must constantly bail the monster’s oily slime off of the deck to avoid being capsized by the heavy goo.

Is Icon finished yet? There’s still a lot of landscaping and theming set pieces to put in.

That Wicker Fish is going to look great ;)

In all seriousness though, the fact BPB are going to the extra lengths to add set-pieces is great. Just curious as to wtf they are now.

Haha.. so the tidal wave brought a giant sword? Or was the sword there before the tidal wave?
