Chinese learn a new way to eat fish...

^ Yah, I'm an idiot because I think eating a half alive fish is wrong. I'm an idiot because I have an opinion JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE.

You can <img> off, I'm tired of you too.

PS: You aren't an idiot because you think a eating a fish is wrong.. you are an idiot for thinking that the culture is wrong.. as I've pointed out. You are fine for having an opinion Taylor, I never said you couldn't. I just prefer you actually know what the hell you are:

1. Saying
2. Talking about.

That goes for everyone, not just you. If you can't handle that, then.. well.. stop posting stupid ****.

Oh? And do you think that the people doing it are committing animal rights violations? And do you believe they too should all "die terrible deaths?"

Yes I think it's animal cruelty for sure. As I said about the "die terrible death" thing, I already explained I meant they should be put in the same situation as the animal they're killing to see how it feels to be in their shoes.

Do I agree with child slavery? What? Do you even know what a sweatshop IS, Taylor? Or are you just doing that thing where you spew out crap you don't know?

I know what sweatshops are because I know a girl who is so anti-sweatshop she won't buy anything from anywhere unless she knows their products haven't been manufactured in them. They're factories where people can be exposed to dangerous things, whether it be dangerous materials, dangerous equipment, whatever, and they also OFTEN violate child labour laws. And my child slavery point was not just for sweatshops.. A lot of things we buy are the products of child slavery, whether it's in a sweatshop or not.

A sweatshop is a workplace where workers are subject to extreme exploitation, including the absence of a living wage or benefits, poor working conditions, and arbitrary discipline, such as verbal and physical abuse. Since sweatshop workers are paid less than their daily expenses, they are never able to save any money to improve their lives. They are trapped in an awful cycle of exploitation.

Defenders of sweatshops often bring up the fact that even though sweatshops are bad, they at least give people jobs they wouldn't have had otherwise. However, the type of jobs sweatshop workers receive are so bad that they rarely improve their economic situation.

So much for making a wage for their family, and working happily. I highly doubt you'd be happy working in such conditions.

And like Joey said, and as I agreed with, there IS A FINE LINE BETWEEN BELIEVING IN SOMETHING AND THEN NOT LIVING YOUR LIFE TO SUPPORT WHAT YOU BELIEVE IN. You think it would be a smart thing, and would really change the world if I quit my job at McDonalds (God forbid, I reallly believe they'll have trouble replacing me)? You really think it would be a smart thing to, well, not have extra money for university next year, not have a car so I can even get home from university or go anywhere else, and then not have anyone in my household with a job? Seriously, if you actually believe I should DO that, you're retarded.

And Marcus, I'm just tired of you throwing around put downs for the sake of calling me a retard or an idiot just because you want to. You can say you don't get my point, or I'm bad at getting my point across, but you don't have to say I'm retarded or an idiot.

Taylor, I'm calling you a retard because you said something retarded. See that connection? I also never said that I didn't get your point because.. well.. your point was retarded.. and there wasn't anything to get.

Saying things simple, with some intelligence, is something you lack.. have lacked for quite a long time. You spout off random ****, most of the time not understanding what you said completely or throwing out the other side of the story simply because you don't want to know it or simply don't have the capacity.. as Joey pointed out. We all say dumb ****, but you make it a habit.. which is borderline Steven.

Or, let me boil it down so you can understand it: Don't be an idiot.

I've done a little digging and apparently the fish isn't "Alive". Apparently it's border line dead and just having spasms.

So why don't you feel the same way towards all people, including yourself, who eat meat? The next fish you eat will have suffocated to death, and it is your fault that that happened. You mentioned earlier that the fish/lobster/whatever it was was "dead anyway." No, it wasn't. It suffered and was killed so that you could eat it.

No, it wouldn't, and I don't think anyone here has suggested that, have they?

Here is the point: YOU along with EVERYONE ELSE HERE, myself included, share some degree of responsibilty towards causing animal suffering. Nobody is saying that you should quit your job or stop eating fish/lobster or whatever. They're just trying to show you how hypocritical it is to judge the people in that video when we're all just as "guilty" of, essentially, doing the same thing.

That's why people are getting pissy with you. Because you're failing to see the points being made.

I think you guys might like this link... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/foodanddrink ... sters.html Well, Taylor will.

I thought that when I first watched the video, but when I looked it up I could only find evidence that it was alive. When I say evidence, I mean the Chinese admitting that it was alive.

When our Koi/Carp are close to death, they stop breathing, like that fish does at the start of the vid... and you can encourage them to breath again by pushing them through the water to force water to go through their gills. Kiss of life for a fish, I always hoped. I've never had any luck rescuing them though. I suspect this is the same sort of thing, it's a nervous response to being poked. Maybe in some rare cases you could "bring it back to life" in this way, but from the experience with our fish, it's as good as dead.

I doubt that fish is conscious anymore, but It was undoubtedly in excruciating pain and fear when it was being fried alive. If we are going to kill and eat other animals, we HAVE to put them through pain and fear, in some form. I'm all for limiting that fear and pain, but I don't want it to cost me "unnecessary" discomfort. Financially, or otherwise.

Taylor you should watch an episode of Kill It, Cook It, Eat It... to open your eyes into what happens to get that meat you put between two slices of cardboard each day, and the fish/meat you eat!

You know, even though I know what this topic's about, every time I see the title I think it's gonna be some dodgy Chinese lesbian porn...

^^ LOL!

Edit: Wow... Uc managed to type all that and beat me to the post when I just write lol. You're like a machine!

I already stated, if given the choice, I wouldn't eat meat. I don't feel like going into personal issues here or anything, but trust me when I say if I didn't eat meat, it would cause a lot of problems. It would have been killed anyway though, whether I was going to eat it or not. I already said my logic on that was a bit weird, but it's the way I feel.

No, it wouldn't, and I don't think anyone here has suggested that, have they?

UC is the one saying I'm being hypocritical and can't give my opinion on animals rights because I work at McDonalds, which has been known for killing their chickens in bad ways.

I sure hope your parents have never boiled a lobster then, because otherwise you're one terrible daughter.

They actually haven't. My mom hates seafood, and my dad only ever bought one from a package which I told him to never do again.

And since we've apparently moved on to animal killing, so you believe that ANYONE killing an animal should die a death as terrible as the one they're dealing?

Not really, but I wish there was a way we could SHOW people, including any meat eater, how it would feel to be the animal, and then maybe people would actually stop eating meat in large enough amounts that they'll stop killing the animals in bad ways. Unfortunately that would never happen, and yes, I said something I didn't exactly mean when I said they should die terrible deaths; anyone who knows me knows I'm really sensitive when it comes to death and would never wish death upon anyone or anything so, yeah.

These families WORK for their living, Taylor. Not everyone in the world has the opportunity and privilege of growing up in a first-world country. Children in other countries work because they have to to support their families.

I get that, and it sucks a lot that they have to do that. Maybe sweatshops wasn't the best example, but how about any type of child labour resulting in the manufacturing of our products over here? It happens, and a lot of people are against it, but they still buy the products. That's the only point I was trying to even get at, is that people aren't going to stop buying stuff and stop living and stop having things they like or need to show they believe in something. There are a million other examples, like the one Joey said, about the tigers and people still going to zoos. Maybe my example wasn't the best, but there are many other examples out there that I could argue.

Next time you try and find a biased website to support your already-BS claims, don't find one I can use against you, please. You make this way too easy.

It was the first site I clicked on. I didn't go searching for biased websites on purpose.

Honestly, all this topic has done so far is demonstrate just what a spoiled little brat you really are. The way in which you attempt to force your life upon other peoples is absolutely ridiculous.

How am I forcing my life upon other people, OR being a "spoiled little brat"? Because I have an opinion? And I don't know how you can say I'm spoiled.. I got a lot of stuff given to me when I was younger, and I still get what I want, but I choose to make my own money and work for things I want.

People can live how they want, but don't expect me to LOVE their culture simply just because I should feel like I have to respect all cultures out there no matter how bad I think what they do, is. Yes, it's their culture, but it doesn't mean I should love it and think it's right. Maybe to them it's right, but to me, it's not.

I sure hope you aren't eating Turkey this Thanksgiving, Taylor, or you're as bad as sweatshop owners.

THANKSGIVING ALREADY PASSED FOR CANADIANS YOU STUPID SPOILED LITTLE BRAT WHO ISN'T AWARE OF WHEN THANKSGIVING IS CELEBRATED IN ANY OTHER COUNTRIES BESIDES AMERICA. HOW IGNORANT CAN YOU BE?!

Celeberated in other countries? As far as I know its only the US and Canada that celebrate it

Ohhhhh fuxake! It's a fish! It is: dead. It does not: care.

It's not worth shouting at mini-America for! ;)
