COTALAND | Texas | Gerstlauer Infinity Shuttle (Palindrome) & Vekoma Tilt (Circuit Breaker) & Others

Can't wait to see what the boats look like.

If they even vaguely resemble a turd it'll be absolutely brilliant. Which says a lot about my humour I think, but oh well.

I'd argue they will regardless- provided you've had the right wrong thing for dinner the night before.

I bet they are fuming that they aren’t gonna have the first tilt coaster in the states now. What took them so long to get this thing together? Sirens Curse seemed to spring up overnight.

I think they're intending to have it up and running in time for the GP, which I think is on 19 October.

The delay came down to electrical permitting. Vekoma’s crew had planned to finish Circuit Breaker ahead of Siren’s Curse, but with COTALAND running behind schedule overall, they shifted focus. The team headed to Ohio to get Siren’s Curse ready in time for Cedar Point’s tighter deadline.

Now that the permits are finally in place and permanent electrical work is underway, progress should move faster. That said, Circuit Breaker won’t debut until the park itself is ready. Currently estimated for mid-2026.

Circuit Breaker's tilt was configured and tested for alignment using a temporary power supply. The Park wants people to experience the park as a whole, so the goal is to complete the entire park construction before everything opens up.

Cheers y'all!

I hope this is not an off-topic question: is there any more info on what the general operating hours of Cotaland will be? Planning a Texas road trip for the summer and I don't want to miss out on this park, but I could not find a calendar on their website.

I'm not counting on the park being open by Summer. I'm sure they'll continue to operate Circuit Breaker (and possibly Palindrome once it's ready) during events but there's no word on exactly when the full park will open outside of those event dates. It looks like there's quite a bit of work left to do to make it a full, cohesive park.

That is sad to hear. But when focussing on those events: what kind of events do I have to think about? I would guess when there is a race at the F1 track, but I also saw something about a winter event that ran for about a month? Is there any event that they ran during the past summer or might organise coming summer?

The rides that are complete and issued permits will be open for Nascar in March. I know they are desperately trying to get everything built and ready by July. Matt said a few weeks ago that almost all rides should begin vertical construction within the next 6 weeks. That does bode well for their timeline.

in other news, the 218-foot drop tower has gone vertical. DJI_0936.jpg
