Europa Park |"Wodan"| GCI Wood

As for the model, I don't think it is Europa PArk. Blue Fire is a different blue and shape to that and what's the ride with red track and white supports? Nothing like that at Europa. Plus the Europa Park FB posted a picture of the model in their own museum, although there could be two or more I guess.
Not to be a dick, but, you're wrong. That model in the background is the Europa Park model. The lit car and model are joined (metaphorically), even though they clearly aren't, they're just showcasing two different products, it's the way in which they've took the picture and the angle that presents this point.

I wouldn't have taken offence, not my style, but I appreciate the prefix anyway. Disagreement is fine and in this case you've changed my mind. I scooted back a few pages to see the pictures of it and I can now see the angle it's taken from makes sense, it's kind of end on. The white and red model must either be a lighting effect (deliberate or not) on the first drop. Or another model entirely. I would like to add, that I no point did I say the under train lighting wouldn't appear on the ride, I think it'll suit the theme well. Just that it doesn't necessary mean they're connected.

Re: GCI Wooden Coaster - Europa Park 2012

No, to be fair, I was actually sticking up for you in terms of the lighting, it's just not enough evidence that it's going to be present on said coaster.

Who can NOT get excited about this ride now?

Exiting the second trench and heading toward the station fly-through.

Re: GCI Wooden Coaster - Europa Park 2012

^Might be, given that it's between the station and the lift or the end brakes. An outward banked turn isn't dangerous if it's taken at a slow enough speed.

Also, that trench between the station building and the outside area... meaning that you'll cross a bridge over the track when getting into the station. Will probably be awesome. Can't really explain how, but it looks awesome.

Is that an Outwardly banked turn at the bottom right or is it the angle of the photo?!
Sure looks like it! And GCI introduced an outward banked turn with Joris en de Draak so it aint impossible :)

Re: GCI Wooden Coaster - Europa Park 2012

It was mentioned on the TPR video of IAAPA that the station fly by would have outwardly banked track to feel like it would throw you out, so that'll be interesting to see.

I always find it so hard to follow the construction of wooden coasters.. it just looks like someones thrown thousands of matchsticks down haha.

Re: GCI Wooden Coaster - Europa Park 2012

Looks great, However imo ; the coaster is starting to look a bit all over the place and cramped.
However i like the immense banked turns and tunnels are awesome here !

Yup, first time GCI did theirs was on Joris, so it wouldn't surprise me to see another one. GG however has been doing them for quite some time.

I know they did it on JedD. It was closer to the end near the brake run. it actually looked really fun. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out to be totally honest!

Is it just me or is there a huge kink in the track there?

If there is, thats gonna be uncomfy.

Re: GCI Wooden Coaster - Europa Park 2012

^Fairly sure that isn't finished.

That's not the track you see there, it's the early stages of what the track will go on.

This is GCI. They make perfection. But, they all look like that under construction. Don't worry.

Re: GCI Wooden Coaster - Europa Park 2012

To be honest...that's almost as bad as "Wood coaster" at Knight Valley!

I think we'll just call it "Timber" rather than "wooden timber coaster"(which is quite a mouth - ful!), sounds much better...

Anyway, who cares about the name...it's gonna be one amazing coaster! :--D

Re: GCI Wooden Coaster - Europa Park 2012

I thought you meant Wooden Timber Coaster and that you'd just had a brain lapse until I saw that logo <//3

omg

That's the worst, haha.

Re: GCI Wooden Coaster - Europa Park 2012

What? Timbur coaster? That's a new one.

However, it looks like that's just its secondary title. The name appears to be Wodan, which is the Anglo-Saxon version of the Norse god known as Odin.

I think it's a great name.

OHHH I like...Timbur Coaster can get out though..

(I thought for a minute they'd spelt Wooden wrong, I must be tired.)
