Flamingo Land | Sik | Intamin 10 Inversion Coaster | 2022

Pretty sure they're placeholder values and photos and that app update wasn't supposed to go live.
Why would placeholder values be so close to the actual values though? If they were placeholders they would be unrelated instead of being the correct height except the decimal is placed incorrectly.

Not news as such, but Heron Foods are currently running a 3 for 2 entry offer for FL, similar to the usual Merlin 2 for 1 offers:

Might be useful for anyone planning on going. Seemingly only on this one product, haven't had a chance to go in and check yet.

3 for 2 is such an odd offer for a theme park, no? Perhaps it's just me but I imagine a majority of parties at theme parks having even numbers? Deal's a deal though I guess.

Never known mingo go further than 3 for 2 offers.
Makes it that bit cheaper for a family group.
Families often come in odd numbers Ethan!

I'm not one to get annoyed by things on the internet. I mean we all know it's a cesspit of angry opinions and weird porn. But seriously?

This reads like a cry for help for than anything else.

Zamperla thunderbolt 3 across looper confirmed?

Agreed. What's the bet that he's known to park staff for being extremely entitled and annoying over the years, I'd put money on it tbh. At least he'll get 3 for 2 with every chicken curry bake once his pass expires.

Judging by the stories Flamingo Land is resharing and some others posts, it looks like this is going to be such a trashy launch event and I’m kinda here for it. Cal the Dragon is definitely the worst one I’ve spotted so far - anyone seen any other trash?

A quick review.

Presentation is alright actually with some nice landscaping and the ride looks great.

The ride itself is quick and mostly smooth but wasn't a fan of those rolls with a lap bar. Actually hurt quite a bit. The first half is excellent but didn't really like the 2nd half. Still it's a good ride for the park.

Also this is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Ok slightly longer review now I've left the park. With some poorly times photos to boot.

As mentioned earlier it's a pretty solid ride, it's got a bit of the old intamin rattle which all intamins of the era seem to have but for thanks to the lap bar only trains it's not an issue at all.

The lift engages the roll backs extremely loudly and then it whisks you up to the top of the lift at a break neck pace. The first drop has a nice whip to it and it keeps good speed through the loop. IMG_20220702_094637.jpg
The airtime hill adds a lighter pop of airtime than i had hoped but it's solid. The first tunnel is so full of steam that my glasses came out drenched. The cobra rolls and corkscrews are exactly what you'd expect, smoother versions of collossos.IMG_20220702_095302.jpg
Now the possibly contentious part. The rolls have always been my least favourite part of the Thorpe park version and the same held true here. Upon a second ride later in the day we all felt the ride was much better if you took up a more defensive riding position and pushed down on the restraint during the rolls. And while that's true and made the ride much more rerideable, I always feel any ride that requires a particular riding position to make it more bareable has a design flaw.

In general I thought the landscaping was lovely and I loved the smoke effect that would blow over on to velocitys launch providing a nice addition to that ride as well. The little lake at the end looks lovely and while the majority of the ride is over a gravel pit it does look better than say scream at SFMM. It does its job and looks alright.

Some small random odditys I noticedIMG_20220702_163825.jpgsome random squares with wires sticking out of them. Which I assume are for lighting eventually. But just looked a bit odd.IMG_20220702_163350.jpg
I've not really followed construction closely so I don't get why some of the supports are in holes when ones really nearby are not.

The fun steps to nowhere which are on the other side of a bolted down fence rather than a gate.

Overall I think flamingo land have a winner. It fits in with their other rides in the way it's alright but feels a bit janky in places. It's arguably the best ride in the park (I personally prefer Kumali but I'm weird and an often told I'm wrong about such things)

Would I rush up to Yorkshire just to ride it? No I wouldn't but then I haven't rushed to Blackpool to ride icon or Alton to ride wickerman (or thirteen or the smiler) so I'm probably not the best barrometer for these things.

Ah you saw that too. I saw that immediately and was shocked that they'd allow this to open like this. Could easily rip your hand/arm off on that.
Also in the queue the fire alarm wiring is looped and not finished. There should be a button to set the alarm here but its just a loop of wire (unfinished)

I visited today and really enjoyed the coaster itself. Its fun, fast, whips you about and is just a good laugh. The barrel rolls feel like you're gonna fall out of the train with lapbars though. The misters soak you and the corkscrews are epic.

Later in the day they had an issue with the catch car and a mechanic went up the lift without a harness on. The queues are going to get so bad on this ride on a busy day as the throughput sucks and it takes AGES between cycles.

The launch event was tacky as expected although the loud bass did add something to the queue / ride experience. Without that it felt a bit empty. It is basically a shed with some flags and vinyl wrap on the walls.

Saw that the cable for the lift could be reached through a fence which is a bit of a joke. The ride also has turnstiles which is a bit random and wierd.

Apparently he has denied all knowledge of it......

If they looked like they just got out of bed and are at the end of their rope then it was me 😁

The ride itself performed almost flawlessly all day with only 2 minor faults which, as an engineer, I am really happy with.
Wish I could say the same with a lot of other things though.

I think the vast majority of those who rode it came off with huge soaking wet grins on their faces. (maybe I should dial down the fog a bit?)

I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Haha not sure on that one. I would really suggest someone maybe looks at where the cable goes underneath the queueline as someone posted a pic earlier - It looks like it would be pretty bad if a kid reached in and touched it when the lift was going!

Did really enjoy the ride and yeah the misters are bloody powerful lol.

BTW is that extremely loud clanging when the lift first starts pulling the train normal? Its deafening!

Thanks to those posting their reviews, I do look forward to hearing more.
I'll be there tomorrow so I'll try my best to get a review post. If not, I can just send my video review over from the ride. It kinda makes me sad as well as excited. Because I've covered this project since the first rumour 2/3 years ago and to see the finished product will be scary and quite saddening as well as exciting.
