It's literally like they've clicked 'Copy Layer Style' from the Wicker Man graphic and placed it on to this. I do like it, but still, ugh.

It also looks like they could be tying the two narratives in with 'Battle of the Giants'.

I actually really like the Wickerman theme, it is really well done at Alton and I remember thinking it was a bit of a shame it was "wasted" on such a mediocre coaster.
You really get hyped up in that queue/preshow/station and a fantastic coaster like Colossos would be a much better payoff.
But it doesn't look like this it's specifically a Wickerman theme, it just has the same vibes.

The new track on the first drop is done.

Work on one of the airtime hills. The helix has also now received its new ledgers.

New rails for the inside of the station.

Over the track a new structure presumably for a tunnel/theming element has been built. It has now been covered over but in older pictures you see the odd rails like construction.

The new Wicker Ma... sorry mysterious theming element continues to develop.

Really looking forward to this. Absolutely love Colossos but it's roughness did spoil it a fair bit. This isn't enough to make me want to visit Heide again just yet though, a good new coaster would do that though!

Now that the new lifthill track is in place the new catwalks and trough for the lift chain are being installed.

Huh, the themed element could be a gigantic tree maybe? The top looks like branches, and it would fit with the theming they've slapped onto the ride just before it got closed. "Baummenschen" (tree humans) if I recall correctly.

They are replacing the track, which happens pretty frequently on wooden coaster refurbs, this is just an extended one. Structure is still there, it didn't get taken out. So this is not a new cred. At all. Not even a smidge. Nope. Not even for the biggest whores.
