Hmmm, I was under the impression construction photos couldn't/shouldn't be released until the ride has been approved by Nickelodeon on 6th April. That's what a certain person whose surname starts with T politely told me in an email this afternoon.

I can understand a site not publishing images at the request of a park out of courtesy, but if the photos are taken from a public place by a member of the public can they really do anything to stop it from being published on the internet?

Nickelodeon land was described as a "new themepark" on tonight's BBC North West news (it was a general piece about Merlin making Blackpool fantastic ).

^^ I guess not. If they didn't want people to see then would make it impossible not to.

From the parks point of view, the land has not been signed off by Nickelodeon yet, therefore any images that may surface on the internet may not be the end result (or near-end result in construction cases). They wouldn't want those images floating about. That's the impression I got in my email correspondence.

However, bugger it, I like to see construction of stuff I'm interested in taking place so I don't mind seeing any photos (embargoed or not) at all!

I suppose you could argue that they're taken on private property, but since the park is open to paying guests I don't see how they could realistically police it. I'd say they would have a stronger legal case than this

for example. Those "copyrights" (which are no such thing) piss me off no end. Add a link to your site and be done with it.

PBE Was told to remove a set of photos a while a go however have not been told to since and the park have not had any problem with any of the Pictures on any Blackpool sites.

Also The Copyright PBE Thing is just because other Blackpool sites used to steal the pictures and pass them off as their own. That's the only reason it's there.

The Park Also don't seem as bothered as much about pictures being put on sites now thought.

They need watermarking then, or a simple "Please do not use without the consent of PBE". Copyright on an image posted on the internet means absolutely nothing. If you post an image (or video) on TPR forums, part of the T&C for joining are that TPR are then allowed to use them and gain joint ownership of them - did you check our T&C and see if we don't do the same? ;)

I can understand the issue, and it's a pain (and we won't use images without asking and make no claim to anyone's). I guess it's just the wording that's aggravating, as it just doesn't mean anything to say it's copyrighted. :)

To be honest I'm suprised there's still so much to do!

I think by the time the land is finished RollerCoaster will fit in a bit more because of the bright colours the area will bring (I presume).

But yeah, do we think pace is slow or this is expected? It doesn't look like it should be open by a month at all.

Ooooooh! I'm having those photos!!! ;)

There does seem to be a hell of a lot of work left to do, but it does look excellent. It's off, Blackpool don't do much very often, but when they do, they seem to go all out.

Still looks a million miles away from being finished.

However, I would rather they took their time and to get the job done properly.

I can't agree more. It kind of looks behind, I know it probably isn't, as near enough most updates say "It's on track"

I HATE Spongebob, but I am looking forward to that ride. The bad thing is, with the OBVIOUS McDonald's inspired arches (yes, that was a joke), surely that's actually taking away from spraying some people?!
