Wikipedia seems to think the accuracy isn't actually all that bad. All the main plot points are true, with a few details being different (Stauffenberg not having a PA, for one). Cruise was wrong for the role though. He didn't portray the right kind of authority.
t'Film also didn't go into any of the philosophical aspects of who he was and why he was doing it.
It was mostly enjoyable, nonetheless.
I have Mulholland Drive on my Sky+, shall have to see it soon. Perhaps tonight. Blue Velvet was rather good also. I'm actually surprised with the amount of Lynch I've seen!

Got bored yesterday during college (And didn't want to go to the evil class of MATH), so my friends put in the movie Hot Fuzz
I couldn't stop laughing at time. It's cleverly written, witty, and just downright good. The ending was action packed and story was very depthy.
Overall, watch it if you haven't seen. Watch it if you have.

The thing is that I don't actually like Tom Cruise... no reason, he just annoys me. Yet he has been in so many damned good movies - The Last Samurai, MI trilogy, Born on the 4th July, Risky Business, Rain Man, A Few Good Men, The Firm to name but a few. So I would be bound to agree that he is the wrong guy for the part ... yet he does carry it off well.
Kenny boy does need to stay at the Globe though, and Kevin McNally should only be allowed to make pirate films - he is probably the second best pirate ... after Mr Rush

Had a bit of a movie day today, and stupidly let my brother choose the first three. Result?
The Longest Yard. **** me it was awful. Crap, crap, crap, predictable storyline, which was to be expected. It's ok if a comedy has a bad storyline, as long as it's funny. It didn't even come close to raising even a hint of a smile though. Awful. 0/10 without a single redeeming feature.
Ghost Town. Ricky Gervais being sarcastic and condescending, now there's something we haven't seen before. Comparitively hilarious after watching The Longest Yard, but still a really, really bad, unfunny film. 2/10
Role Models. I actually quite liked this. Stupid humour, but couldn't help laughing at the little kid. Not much else to say really. 7/10, but that's maybe just being generous after the two I'd just watched before it.
Couldn't deal with my brother's DVD collection anymore, so went to my room and watchedHard Candy. Not bad really, but not great. I thought it was a good idea, and liked that it was just two characters in the same place through most of the film, even if one of them was Ellen Page. Yuck. 7/10

As Hollywood goes, Valkyrie is pretty accurate - at least they tried. Cruise is definitely wrong for the part though.
It's more accurate than Changeling, which trumpets authenticity and that craps on a hell of a lot of the facts.
And don't get me started on the likes of U-571, or The Patriot!
Ben, since Mulholland Drive was an abandoned TV series, I'm doubtful as to just how much the logic is going to hang together. Props for the dedication though.
I'd *love* to take notes while watching a film, but I think I'd get lynchedwink.

You'd be surprised actually! He did film a crap load of extra stuff for it (I'm inclined to guess the whole "end" part, but, I wouldn't know for sure, Lynch just seems to like going "we filmed more... go away"), so, there is definitely a few theories and ideas you can see coming out of it.
I loved it the second time I watched it. I understood it, and it all fit together masterfully and is such an amazingly crafted film. 10/10. Lynch gets a <3
Last night I went and saw Fast & The Furious 4.
As expected - and remember I don't like the cinema, rather have the comfort of my own home - it was pretty ****.
The series is dead anyway but it was so, so weak. The races were pretty good fun to watch as were the cars, but it was so, so dire.
I'd recommend that you only go and watch this film if all your regular mates are going to watch it and you don't want to be stuck in on your own on a Friday night. I'd also recommend being slightly pissed and stoned when watching it. Then go to the casino afterwards and win £150 from a £20 stake...tbh, I forgot I watched the film when I woke up this afternoon.

Okay, another movie weekend and 5 watched.
Transporter 1, 2 and 3 - I thought these would be interesting, with Luc Beson being one of my favourite writers /producer / directors, and they were simply very good, testosterone pumping action films. By the second one, the patern was totally predictable and I found myself drifting away from them occasionally. A tad far fetched, but nevertheless entertaining.

The Yes Man - I have never been a fan of Jim Carey, but people have said that he has gotten better recently, so I thought I would give this a go. Sadly, I simply couldn't stand it and had to switch it off.

Australia - Within 5 minutes of the start of this film, I stopped it, made coffee, grabbed a big bar of Galaxy and restarted it. This was simply the best movie I have seen for a long time. Nicole Kidman is stunning, the kid was excellent, and Baz Lurman has pulled a masterpiece out of his back pocket. As for Hugh Jackman, what can I say he was fantastic as Drover *drool*. I did spend the last 30 mins in tears ... sad sentimental fecker that I am.
If you haven't seen it, then do. I have ordered the Blu Ray already

Errr, overrated? It was good, but I'm not absolutely like, blown away. Like, obviously it was a bit far fetched, and the story line wasn't as great as I thought it would be. But, with that being said, it was still a good movie, I just expected too much.

I saw The Damned United the other day, just because my parents were going to see it and I had nothing better to do.
For a film I didn't really fancy it was really good, great acting throughout and an excellent true story. Also, really good use of archive footage. I'm glad I saw it with my dad as he explained a lot of the events to me as he lived through them.
I love British films.
