What's new

"Now Showing"

It's due for cinema release over here soon as well after making it through the censors with only 1 cut. 1 cut is still quit substantial though as only 2% of films released for cinematic viewing actually get cut per year. Can't imagine watching this in the cinema, I felt like a weirdo watching in my own home!

^I know exactly what you mean, it felt "Wrong" to watch it, but I just couldn't turn it off until the end. It was just horrid.

I can see your point about it being a bit suspect of the Director to have this as his first film, but as they say in the PR World, "Bad PR is Good PR", he seems to have done well to create such a shocking film.

Just got back from seeing Monsters.

It was one of those films with such high critical acclaim that I was concerned it wouldn't be as good as it was made out to be. However I really loved it. It's not your typical monster movie as they are more of a background to everything else going on and I loved that, the story felt 'real' and the characters just worked together so well that you feel so engaged with them and you just want to see them succeed in their journey. It's very simple but it works very well and the score is excellent, adds the perfect atmosphere for every scene. I highly recommend this film, so good.

Rating: 4.5/5

And that one cut will probably be near the end where you see the guys erect knob for a few seconds, as I think that constitutes hardcore porn. That's how things used to be classified anyway; maybe those rules have relaxed recently?

If that's still the case, you'll be able to watch everything else in that vile piece of trash, but we're not allowed to look at an erect penis, which is frankly ridiculous. Where I live, get on any bus after 8pm and there are two or three to choose from.

^I don't think erections are a problem any more, I'm thinking of some of the graphicness in 9 Songs.

(although the guy in that was HOT)

^^ Yeah, the rule in the Media Industry is "You are not allowed to show a bare erect penis unless it is in cartoon form". Thats what I got told on my Media course.

Spoiler below, just in case anybody is curious and wants to see the film..
I hope they cut the FULL last section of the film in which he ends up going with his own Son, which they will obviously include as the film's ending just would NIT make sense at all!

What I don't get is they can't show an erect penis but they can show a newborn baby getting raped and a man doing his 8 year old son up the bum until he bleeds.
Some of the things with films are messed up.

But, like I say, some films have had cinema release with erect penises in... So it's not impossible at all.

Is this what CF's come to? Erect Penis Discussion?

If that's so, I'd like to say that furie's pink sword is by FAR the greatest. The 30 seconds he spent beating me with it were the best of my life! <3

So it would seem... I know the closest season's tough and all, but seriously!? I'm almost tempted to say 'come back lions, all is forgiven', but alas I can't remember Gavin's brilliant drunken quote on the subject of how the idea does nothing for him.
Until such time, somebody do me a favour and watch something that there's more to than just shock value, thus putting the topic back on something vaguely resembling rails?

bumLOVEFiLM sent me "Little Children" the other day.

It was pretty **** but Kate Winslet gets her norks out loads.

Aside from that, it was how I'd imagine an episode of one of those sh1tty Ugly Betty/Desperate Housewives type shows to be. In other words, utter sh1t3!

Worth watching if you're obsessed with Kate Winslet's norks and manly eyebrows like I am.

2/5 - one for each nork.

But that quite literally is porn, as all of the sex scenes were real. Well, I'm pretty sure somebody would have got a stiffy over it.

I hope A Serbian Film will not be like Human Centipede, and be hyped up so much, and actually turn out to be shockingly ****.

I've watched a few films recently, will write reviews later.

Tron: Legacy

Now, I had read how bad the story was, how bad the plot was, and the only thing that was good was the graphics, I disagree. The story, not great, was still enjoyable, the plot was good as well, and the graphics were unbelievable. That is how 3D should be done. Don't make all that **** pop out at you, i.e. Clash of the Titans and Narnia, but use it for depth, which was amazing. You feel like you are in the grid. Olivia Wilde? Yes please. Now I really want to see the first one ha ha.

9/10. I'm gonna end up seeing it in IMAX again.

I just saw Tron: Legacy earlier today and it was incredible. Although the story itself wasn't too special or unique, the way the movie was presented was out of this world. It was visually pleasing and the CGI was great. Something awesome would happen, and then a few seconds later, they would pull out something else even more incredible, leaving you thinking "did that really just happen?" Also, Daft Punk, the group that wrote the soundtrack, made the movie. The music they wrote for the film were absolutely perfect for the genre and it sounded amazing. If I were you guys, I would go see the movie.

9.5/10

Another thing about Tron: Legacy, I think the 3D is better than Avatar to be honest with you, as well as the story. Heck, the entire movie. Avatar was Pocahontas and Dancing with Wolves in space. This, is well so much more original, yet such a normal concept. I doubt it will be the number one movie three months in a row, or what not, but I think it will be in theaters for a long while, at least until March.

Saw two today:

Tron: Legacy

Average.

A Disney film needs to either have characters you care about, fantastic effects or be funny. Preferably all three.

Tron was average for all of them. The effects were nothing special. At least, no better than any other 3D film I've seen. I didn't care about any of the characters, and there was very little humour.

In most films I tend to think the action needs to be toned down, but with this, I felt there needed to be more. The games were the most visually impressive parts of the film, and they are what Tron is famous for. There was also too much exposition at the beginning, which can't be helped, but I feel that this caused the film to be flawed from the outset.

Overall a 6/10.

Secondly:

Megamind

I expected this to be awful. It wasn't.

I really enjoyed this film. The most I've enjoyed a film for a long time. I actually thought that it was funny and clever, something which this sort of film normally manages to avoid being. When I started watching it, I certainly didn't expect it to include satire of Obama etc.

I really loved it. 9/10

Last night I watched Being John Malkovich.

Wasn't sure what to expect considering my interest in this movie was purely based on a 10 second clip on Nostalgia Chick's Man in the Iron Mask review. I lol'd at it and borrowed it off my sister and malkovich malkovich malkovich, malkovich. Malkovich malkovich malkovich malkovich malkovich malkovich. Malkovich malkovich, haha! malkovich! Malkovich malkovich malkovich malkovich "Maaaaallllkoviiich malkovich, malkovichmalkovichmalkovich. Malkovich malkovich malkovich malkovich malkovich malkovich.

malkovich/malkovich

Also the word malkovich looks really weird now...
