As I was being dragged to Ikea I dragged my partner to Paultons car park to have a peek in person.

Driving in it really sticks out on the skyline and the track really pops.

That ellement through Raven looks rather whippy and the stall looks sweet.

Exciting to see my new closest extreme coaster 😍
 
That looks like very few track ties for a thrill coaster! I assume due to the increased cost of steel they've put more effort in recent years into calculating the least amount of track ties per track piece they can get away with forces wise, but I hope it ages well.
 
Glad that Paultons are finally getting the thrill coaster they've been working towards but hoooooooly crap this thing is so ugly

I’m sure it’ll look much nicer when all of the theming and landscaping is in. Paultons certainly won’t scrimp in that department, I’m sure!

Besides, I myself actually think it looks quite snazzy! I think the colour scheme is quite nice!
 
I did a rough measurement based on the photo, measuring the angle of the lift hill itself as well as the drop, then the difference and I got approximately 97.0°

I disagree on it being ugly, it's not fully themed yet and the foliage isn't in. I do like the new track style, I wonder if it will ride better?
 
In the parks newest update theming looks to be coming along well. First a look inside the restaurant.

Love the details but apparently there are still loads to add. Outside poles have gone in for a canopy for the patio looking over the 2027 project, work is set to begin on it in a few months.

Ravens station has come a long way from its original.

The Cobra trains are rethemed but will appear in a later update, track painting is almost done.

The entrance sign is looking great and there will be two of these.

Quite incredible. The statues, the buildings, the rocks, the Viking horns on chandeliers... Before Valgard I would have said I wasn't that much into theming, but this is fantastic.
 
I'm starting to have a real change of heart about this Eurofighter in all honesty. I was really hopeful for something else, something similar to Mahuka, but now I'm seeing this go up with all the theming and its interaction with Raven I can see why they chose this option. It really does look impressive and a step up from everything else at Paultons intensity/intimidation wise, and the budget obviously left a good chunk for theming and other rides, as well as the 2027 addition. If i was a kid going to Paultons and this was the new coaster/area, i'd be absolutely buzzing. If the 2027 addition does end up being a Mack water coaster, Paultons is going to feel so well rounded. Give them a GCI woodie in 2030 and it'd be family park perfection probably. It feels like one of those lovely little European parks, and is night and day when compared to most of our other UK offerings.

For me, I was hoping for a clone of Formula at Energylandia as this would've been perfect for what Paultons were looking to achieve with Drakon

That combined with a clone of Viking Voyage at Emerald Park and it would've been a fantastic area

The Wild Swing definitely is a solid addition although surprised it was just Drakon and the Wild Swing. I thought there'd be at least one more for 2026 and possibly an Air Race or an Endeavour to complement Drakon. A Nebulaz would've also been fantastic 😊

I’d be surprised if another flat isn’t revealed along with the 2027 addition, otherwise they’d have lost 3 rides and gained 3. The 2027 site is nearly 3x Drakons site so must be something substantial!

I'm hoping so too, hearing that the leaks prior to Valgard's reveal said it is just the one ride.

I definitely think if anything it'll be a thrill ride on a similar scale to Cyclonator to complement Drakon or that it will be a family ride on a similar scale to Vild Swing.

Considering that for Valgard, we lost Raging River, Magma and Dragon - I'd wonder similar rides may be bought in to replace those like a Drop Tower or more likely a Seastorm. A Seastorm would complement the park very well considering Dragon was a success and a surprise that it went.
