What's new

Phantasialand | F. L. Y. | Vekoma Launched Flying Coaster | 2020

Finally some new wall updates. It seems like it was once again extended, as you can see in this image.
Also the gate between Berlin and Rookburgh was replaced by a bigger one. Will it be thematically fitted to Rookburgh, like the new entrance in Berlin? (Here's a pic of the old one for reference)

Yesss, exactly what I've longed for for so long: more wall talk to distract us from the fact that we still have to wait for way too long :(

^Context to the above images:
On the sound barrier wall another section has received its first layer of concrete. Quite a large central rectangle has been left empty though possibly for a building (perhaps connecting with the speculated 1st launch cannon feature below?) or protruded façade - its certainly way larger than any of the other gaps left for theming elements.
Otherwise though not much has progressed on the wall in last 2 weeks. Presumably the high winds/storms across Europe have not helped (we all saw what happened to Zadra, and actually closer to PHL Cologne Cathedral also sustained damage), and possibly the Universal Rocks teams have been deployed elsewhere in the park in the run up to the start of the season (eg. the new Black Mamba rockwork, the new Rookburgh gateway, etc.) or maybe somewhere else within Rookburgh.

The Barth Mobile Crane used for track installation has also returned to the park and was parked opposite the construction site entrance ready to be brought into use soon.

Checking in again with the infamous Wuze Wall. So as previously posted the F.L.Y. banner and construction fence has been removed, uncovering the bottom third of the structure. Universal Rocks are actually working here to finish this section. The building (use, if any, currently unknown) the wall sits on can be seen in grey (presumably an undercoat).
Sadly the Wuze to Rookburgh gateway is a bit further down to the right of the two arches and not visible in these images.

The staircase/steps up to the former Race for Atlantis entrance have been partly demolished/narrowed with the neighbouring flowerbed taking over this space, the flowerbed has also received a new themed wall with tree roots on it. The wooden lantern supports along the steps are new too. Given the former Race for Atlantis queue still exists it will be interesting to see how this is repurposed. Has an access point been left in the sound barrier wall so it could still be connected to Rookburgh and used as part of a queueline with these steps remaining as a fire escape route? Or has it been cut off and will be used independently? Perhaps a new Business 2 Pleasure conference/event room or just a staff only area.
A before picture from November 2018.

An update on PhantaFriends says that the Barth crane used for track installation has been brought back on site and is in position by the footers. No new track or supports have been erected yet however new a section of launch track has been delivered and brought straight away into the site.
Its believed this will be the end of the 2nd Launch (the curved upwards one). The track is mostly straight in shape however curves downwards at the end - the end also does not have any LSM fins.
The downwards curve does support the theory I shared on here eariler this week that the 2nd launch shoots you up into a hill and then you immediately go down a steep twisted drop.

PHL-Marcus has also attempted a prediction at how the finished layout parts may look. He thinks the upwards second launch might head into a steep drop with a turn similar to that of Lech Coaster.

Can't be long until we find out and the track is completed.

Reminder of what has already been built of the second launch: (albeit wrapped in green tarpaulin)

EDIT:
And a look at the entrance to Rookburgh in the side of the Wuze Wall (painting still a work in progress it seems). I like the "RB" lettering in a Wuze style on the doors.
Also appears to be a new flowerbed with some new lanterns on the right against Wuze Town.

Even though it is 'only' a door ... I think the combination of Wuze and Rookburgh style is well done! It fits nicely together.

I can't believe nobody has been in with a tape measure to see how much track is left to go in

Yeah there shoud be someone who can say now how much track is known off? 1000m mark is reached on site? And now maybe another 250m of track on the car park?

Video clip of the Wuze Wall.

Some screenshots from that video.

With the removal of part of the former Atlantis steps and the Rookburgh/F.L.Y. signage they are working on this paved raised area. A stage for outdoor kids shows? Or perhaps steps will be added and make it an additional seating area for the opposite Snack Stand? Given how its paved already it certainly does not look like a foundation for another flat ride of some sort.

^Yeah, I'd be surprised to see this open before the Autumn, to be honest.
