What's new

Phantasialand | Taron | Intamin launched

I can see something similar to Zierer ESC seats or Blue fire style. Like a slightly raised seating position and in turn a much more open train design. All the Intamin's I have ridden have all felt very cramped once you are in the train and I think Phantasialand would be looking to avoid that feeling with this new 'Phantasia train'

I'd be surprised if the seats don't end up looking similar to those on the recently opened Turkish Blitz coaster. It's what Intamin has been using on coasters of such size lately... As for the trains, I hope those will end up looking fab. :)

Headrests are now visible, and what looks like some type of claw on either side of the train.

In front of the left seat is that another headrest that's lower or something else?

I'm really intrigued by these trains. After this I hope the reveal isn't an anti-climax.

Isn't that a weird place for a restraint? I eagerly await tomorrow's reveal :)

Not really, the Taron logo is against the rider's back. so the piece above that is the headrest. If it's a lapbar the restraint is in the right place. Also bear in mind the pic is quite small, but if you zoom in it seems to fit.

Ah, see, I saw that as a headrest, hence the slight confusion. I'm not very patient at week-long catchphrase

It looks like we have both front corners of the train now, so that should show how big the image will be. I wonder if there's anything significant in between, like a scoop or an ornament or something. A giant wooden dragon head on the front of the train would look pretty awesome.

From what I'm seeing I bet these are the same trains as on Altair since I don't see a lot of room for a winged outer seat on the left side of the image and I don't think some of the tunnels match the envelope profile for a Skyrush train but I could be wrong. The headrests really remind me of the ones on Skyrush and Aces more than they do "normal" Intamin seats in that they're flatter and less cup-like. I'm on my phone now but looking at pictures of both Altair and Skyrush, they resemble the Skyrush ones more.

So in order of decreasing likelihood, I bet these are either 1. Completely new trains 2. Altair trains 3. Skyrush trains. Now come chew me up and tell me how I can't possibly know that my educated guess was correct and crucify me.

EDIT: Just realized I'm sitting in a Skyrush train in my profile picture. :p Zoom in on the headrest, it looks a lot like the ones portrayed in the picture.

It took me a while to get my head round it and it seems we are all on the same wavelength.

There are three parts, the head rest, the back rest and and lap bar. I originally saw the back rest as the head rest and that made the lap bar look unusually high. Stupid how long it took me to catch on!

Wait I'm really confused, what's the gimmick your on about? All I see is a normal headrest and a lap bar?

Well the gimmick I was referring to was the comparison to the chairs from The Voice I posted earlier... The spinning chairs being a gimmick, and I was suggesting that the trains will consist of these chairs, which would be a gimmick. It was a very concise and well thought out joke .

Sorry .

Ahh that makes more sense now! I was so confused.

Lap bars confirmed, although can't yet see the actual padding, tomorrow I guess. I count only 4 rows, shorter trains are better for this I think. Maybe that's the new train style? Anyone else remember a 4 row train from Intamin?
Funny how they've left a couple of bits of rock there, maybe some type of winged creature adorning the front then.

Alas, no Winged Seats, but wasn't on the cards once we saw the clearance to be fair.
