I think this topic will get a new update for every bolt or screw that appears on site. It's plonked in the middle of fanboy-land, and peeps will go bananas over every bit of track, trains or themeing. We could get as good coverage if it was in, say, Valleyfair!, but the topic wouldn't have been nearly as long.

Wonder what's going to happen next time Alton builds a coaster...
 
Theres nothing wrong with Gerstlauer rides. Chessington should get a Gerstlauer launched coaster ;)

I hope if Alton build a new coaster they do the same as when they built Nemesis. Cover it up so no one can see what is going on :)

I try not to follow these topics now as I just find it ruins any supprise. Between a few people Rage was ruined for me to much over exposure for an average ride. I just peak every now and again at this topic.
 
^ To right, I can get quite nosy on these sort of topics, and like to know more, so I can't resist, and I really hope that Thorpe's eurofighter opens to good reviews, there are nothing wrong with eurofighters in my eyes: smooth, sensation of speed, cool drop, fun inversions... So what actually IS wrong with them, explain?
 
^People always want bigger rides. If you have ridden, say, Millennium Force on a holiday, and thought it was great, then got home to hear your local park to get a Mega-Lite, I bet you won't think too good about it (especially if the park already has a huge coaster). Stealth is nothing compared to Kingda Ka, and so on. A Eurofighter is (or at least, looks) pitiful compared to other rides, say Dragon Khan or even Thorpe's own Stealth.
And UK already have Rage and Speed, so people feel that they have done Eurofighters before.

So yeah, I bet that's it. People want something new and big, not "another" Eurofighter.
 
I have only been on 2 of them Speed and Rage I did not like either. The layouts are fine and the concept is fine its just I dont fit well in the trains.

I smash my head either on the back or the restraints, and thats why I dont like them. They also seem to be ok going in a straight line but shudder round turns.

Maybe this one will be different.

I do find them intense though.
 
I really like Speed, although it has got a little rougher since the first time I rode it.

Rage I can take or leave, it is ok.

I have also ridden Typhoon. Which I was a bit non-plussed about.

Eurofighters are ok, but not amazing.

Am I pleased about Thorpe getting one and am I going to be getting all excited and following construction... Probably not.
 
I don't especially like eurofighters, rage and speed are ok, but nothing fantastic. A eurofighter needs good theming and an interesting layout, That mystery mine at Dollywood. Excellent theming and an interesting layout. If Thorpes is like this, then It could be very good.

Also I believe eurofighters, need newer elements, or they won't be able to compete with Intamins farenhiet design, which is probablly much better than any eurofighter
 
I do wish people though would stop going on about the theming of this. All that looks themed is the station you want to see theming look at Black Mamba or Thunder Mountain that is theming.

Theming a station is not ride theming at all.
 
Yer but look at Universal, the only part of the coaster they theme is the station!

It's no different, so if you consider Dueling Dragons great theming, then why can't we say that this has too?

DD is not well themed I have never ever said it was.

The queue line is thats about it, once it leaves the station its not.

Now I agree the art for the new coaster station looks good all I am saying is people need to stop going on about how well the coaster is themed its simply not its no better themed that Spinball or Rita. Thats my view on it :)
