Does anyone know the specific day this is supposed to open? I may be hitting the park Memorial Day weekend but I don't know which day of the weekend it's supposed to open up.

It best be open (along with Superman) by the end of may *shakes fist in direction of SFMM*

Memorial day is Monday 28th May this year so the weekend of the 26th/27th.

X2 opened then so you might be lucky, but no one has even posted pictures to show if works started yet.

Hmm I'm planning on going the Thursday and Friday before that weekend (because cba with massive crowds/queueing). However if it looks like it'll be opening that weekend might change the schedule and go on the Thursday and the Saturday or something. I hope someone keeps this topic updated.

Edit: Oh god, just realised that my plan was to head to Knott's on the Monday of Memorial Day. Will it be disgusting then? Is Memorial Day like a British Bank Holiday?

Gross, we're doing Disney that week too <//3 Oh well, we'll just have to deal with it.

I love that the parks open for a substantial amount of time, I'm sure we'll be fine. Queueing is part of the experience right ;] I've planned the trip to make sure we weren't in any parks on a weekend to try and avoid the worst of the crowds.

I'm praying Superman will be open though, I couldn't care less about Lex Luthor (drop towers <///3)

Six weeks since they shut down Superman for construction.

Looks like one guy with a shovel and a wheelbarrow could have gotten that much done.

What are SFMM like at getting rides up quickly? It seems recently that we think a ride isn't having much progress and then all of a sudden it's done!

You will probably find superman open just not the drop towers.

^^I don't know. Tatsu was the only 6FMM construction that I followed closely, and that dragged on forever.

Tatsu was a pretty large project and they had some complications ..... it was built on lots of weird terrain.
Lex Luthor shouldnt take that long .... i mean what really do they have to do that could take so long?
I personally absolutely love these drop towers. they are really amazing - especially when they are this tall.

This is the first one of these of its type...how do you love it? Really though, they are just clamping it on the sides, or side, and then build the queue, do all the electrical work, make the platform, and all that other fun stuff. More than likely it will be a mid June like Green Lantern (<3) was.

Think they could have found an older helicopter?

It almost looks like the Screaming Mimi from the 80's TV show Riptide... And that was an old helo even back than.

Yeah, I was hoping to go when I visit this year...but I'm guessing I should wait until the hype dies down...at least a little...
