Chang... now THATS epic.

i hate riddlers revenge with a burning passion. it was one of B&M's worst in my opinion. Mantis was so much better. and Chang was just amazing.

we need more floorless dive machines (With a different layout than griffon or sheikra) or more custom flyers (no superman ultimate flights) or some new innovative way of riding, B&M is good at that.
if there is one thing i hate though
BATMAN CLONES
It is not B&M's fault for building clones. The parks wanted them, and for the most part, so do most people. Even though some of B&M's rides are alike, what they do, they do right. Most all of their rides are above par. They provide for what the parks are looking for. With that in mind, I do not believe B&M will change anytime soon.

Im still waiting for them to break the 300 ft mark. their tallest is only 232 i think (Intimidator)
I want to see B&M build something massive (400-500 range) but have it be the same old style as the other b&Ms, one long lift hill. launches ruin the fun of climbing high (another reason i do not like intamin, all the launches and cable lifts ruin the first drop)

I wasn't comparing them to B&M's Benin. I was just saying I find Intamin's smooth in general, if I ignore Rita's second corner. I find them a bit more wild and exciting.

Using Maverick as an example, I'd say it was smooth track-wise, just violently wild in the corners.

To me, B&M has rarely put out a bad/rough ride. I've got three of them in my top 10 and 6 in my top 25. They've always been reliable to me, and give a thrilling ride. Plus, from an artist point of view, they're pretty to take pictures of/look at. However, 2 of those rides are clones (though I have ridden both originals), and I never liked the idea of reusing designs. They have a lot of copy-paste elements, so it can get old a bit.

Intamins have been exciting. They've been fast, thrilling, new and interesting. They're bigger, faster, and has stronger airtime then B&M. However, they are about as reliable as a 600 year old car. TTD hasn't gone a week without breaking, and I've seen only one B&M break...ever.

So, bigger and new can open the door to problems, while being reliable can be predictable.

You could rely on bush being present to help the victims of hurricane katrina before you can rely on an Intamin not breaking down.

I've ridden a few rough B&Ms, even without counting stand ups (which should be counted; no excuse for them not to be). For the most part, I would say Intamins are smoother than B&Ms. With just lap bars, both companies are very smooth, but when it comes to OTSRs, B&M bothers me more than Intamin. Maverick wasn't a problem at all to me, and the impulse restraints are great... But one hit on a B&M restraint can hurt.

I find B&M OSTR's to be hit and miss. Ive gotten nasty headsmacks on medusa, but the ones on Batman and DD and Hulk were fine. Intamin does a nice job with Stand Up OSTRs. when it comes to lap restraints and combo restraints i find Intamin to be very uncomfortable, and B&M to be pretty good. Arrow did a horrible job with OSTRs as did early Vekoma horsecollars. Nothing is as horrible as the old premier and Togo OSTRS as well as the screaming squirrel S&S OSTRs. they are the same as the Schwarzkopf ones and they suck. Intamin should adopt the new Premier looping lap bars rather than those horrid cramped T-Bars and new restraints on Bizarro and TTD

The reason why B&M's formula of rides that are fairly similar works is due to the fact that parks don't cater to enthusiasts, who have ridden many different coasters and can compare coasters around the world. Most of the GP isn't going to care if the big coaster under the track at Cedar Point has the same type of inversions or a similar layout to the big coaster under the track at Six Flags.

There is a reason why B&M are so succesful, even when they haven't radically changed anything recently. :p

Hardly. I've been on numerous B&M's which were far from smooth.. especially compared to some Intamins.

Oh yes, they're called Stand-ups and should be ignored for eternity because they're utter <img>...

Hardly. I've had rougher experiences on Inverts, Floorless, Stand Ups.. ect ect.

Seriously Snoo, either America's got really really rough B&M's compared to Europe (and I mean REALLY rough by comparison) - or you have a ridiculously low pain threshold  :p

how is that possible? its as smooth as a fresh ice rink here. i cant imagine a B&M being smoother except mabey Air.

Tell that to Snoo ;)

but seriously i find floorless the smoothest.

I've never personally had a problem with their coasters, which is why I'm intrigued as to Snoo's viewpoint on them being rough. I think he's just a wet blanket..... :p

Of course.. you've been on how many B&M's compared to me? And.. are you as overly critical on roughness as I am?

Just because I don't feel the same as you doesn't make me wrong. I've had numerous B&M's.. Kraken, Mantis, Scream!, DD:Ice, Batman: TDK, Raptor.. just to name a few which I can remember, which I came off thinking "that wasn't typical B&M.. in fact that sucked."

You all go on and on about B&M being glass smooth.. thats bull****. Yeah, they are nice, but not ALL of them, ESPECIALLY the older ones. Intamin's, by comparison, usually only suffer because of their restraints (Maverick for example). Notice I did say USUALLY.. for those who are blind and/or retarded.

At the end of the day, Intamin makes the superior thrill machine. End of story. And to be honest.. that's all I care about.

<3

I love it when Americans fly off the handle, it makes me smile :)

I didn't at any point say you were wrong, so way to blow things out of proportion (not to mention going ridiculously defensive unnecessarily and missing the point ;) ).....

So whilst we've established that Snoo has a low pain threshold and is a bit of a pansy when it comes to coasters (unless we've all been fed lies and everything's rough as **** over there :p ), I'm going to have to argue that neither Nemesis (1994) or Dragon Khan (1995?) were what I'd call rough - far from it even. ESPECIALLY in comparison to much newer creations from their Swiss counterparts.

But bless you for feeling attacked, it's kind of sweet. In a very weird way that I never want to feel again!

Ooooo you. :p

Fly off the handle? No. Simply explaining my feelings in a direct manner. Me attacking you would call for me describing you as a huge twatbag and then punching you in the face. :D

Of course, I must reiterate lover that I never said ALL of them are rough. While age doesn't tend to treat B&M's well, that isn't always the case.. as you pointed out with Nemmy and Khan.

And no.. I'm only a pansy for Jake and Brad. You are the one taking it in this relationship hun. ;)

Let's be honest here, age doesn't tend to treat many rides well... Not just from the two companies we're discussing here...
