I love it when Americans fly off the handle, it makes me smile :)

I didn't at any point say you were wrong, so way to blow things out of proportion (not to mention going ridiculously defensive unnecessarily and missing the point ;) ).....

So whilst we've established that Snoo has a low pain threshold and is a bit of a pansy when it comes to coasters (unless we've all been fed lies and everything's rough as <img> over there :p ), I'm going to have to argue that neither Nemesis (1994) or Dragon Khan (1995?) were what I'd call rough - far from it even. ESPECIALLY in comparison to much newer creations from their Swiss counterparts.

But bless you for feeling attacked, it's kind of sweet. In a very weird way that I never want to feel again!

Kumba had a few rough years but its seemed to smoothed out again. they change the wheels more often, but that ride is as smooth as a B&M looper gets, and that was '93 right?

Batman at SF Great Adventure was built around the same time and was rougher than a dirt road. So i think its not as much as the manufacturing company when it comes to B&M's coasters vs Age, but its more park maitenance. Busch Gardens does a much better job than Six Flags when it comes to maintaining their B&M's. Compare Montu and Alpengeist to Batman, there is a huge difference.

i find rides breakdown more at the six flags parks (With the exception of SFMM) than at any other park.

unless its an intamin, then it doesnt matter, it breaks down anyway.

You honestly found Great Aventure's Batman rough? I thought it was fine. OK, maybe not glass smooth, but, compared to almost any SLC? Yeah, that's not rough. There's no REALLY rough Inverts IMO. Alpengeist has jerky moments *glares at mid-course brake run*, but it aint rough. Hydra, that's rough (no matter what people say >.<), and is probably the only B&M apart from Vortex at Great America I've done that I'd say was rough. Plus, it's terrible and should go die. Seriously, it may be off topic, but, that ride sucks ass.

Things like Khan, Nemesis, Kumba and some of the other older ones are a bit rough around the edges, but, certainly not "rough", and CERTAINLY not as bad as a lot of Intamins like Colossus, Indiana Jones or... some other rough Intamins I can't think of right now.

you can't compare Batman to an SLC. I take an asprin before and after i ride an SLC anywhere near the back. notice my signature? got that one on Mind Erasers back seat before they started making it smoother.

B&M has designed some 2 across SLC trains for Vekoma, i find those smoother (Kumali)

Hydra -- i think i said before that thing hurts really bad. that first roll kills your family jewels.

Medusa/Bizarro - if you take the wrong seat on that ride you will smash your head more than a boxing match.

I agree with the OP to some extent: I haven't been on all of them, but the ones I have ridden (Apollo's Chariot, Nitro, etc.), they do feel somewhat the same. Each has those gaping turns and are extremely smooth. They do need to change it up a bit (Maybe go for more intense and packed turns). I do love the hypers though.

Nope!!
Those are just updated trains from Vekoma...

^I've read in several places that Kumali had the B&M trains. I have seen the new Vekoma trains and they look much different then the B&M's

Been on 50+ Beemers.
Been on Countless Intamins.

Intamin has some wild ideas, and companies that want wild ides go to them for execution.

B&M has some proven concepts (several of which they pioneered) that they do extremely well.

Intamin has made some fantastic rides, but if I was running the park, I'd take the capacity, reduced downtime and reduced deathcount of a B&M in my park each and every time.

I agree with the topic creator that B&M rides can be a bit boring sometimes and that a lot of (if not all) designs are very similar. But I also agree to the rest of you who say that parks rather go with something proven that's reliable and has high capacity than something wild and new, and that's exactly what B&M offer!

But too those of you who complain, remeber that B&M will build their new wing walker prototype at gardaland next year and eventually their own version of the 4D coaster. I am 100% sure that it'll be etremely thrilling and revolutionize the business like they once did with the inverted coaster!

Ben speaks the truth. Hydra was unpleasant. There's a reason I didn't ride it at all during our hour's ERT and instead chose to spend the whole hour whoring Talon.

The sad thing is, Hydra's layout was actually pretty good. It was just too uncomfortable to enjoy the ride.

I've been on a fair share of B&Ms and Intamins and I still prefer B&M.

B&M hasn't made more than a couple coasters that distinctly suck, or at least from what I've been on. I hated Hydra because it was so rough, but the layout is really creative so that saves it some. Mantis comes to mind as something that actually sucks, as not only was it horribly rough, but the layout was very boring and uninspired. Overall they're smooth and for the most part they don't have a lot of force (minus the Inverts and older ones) but they're still fun to ride and are easy for a calm ride.

Intamin is really hit or miss with their coasters. Storm Runner was fantastic until the s-curve up to the brakes, which was really harsh on the neck. Volcano is decent for what it is, but it shuffles so badly that you can't keep your head still for most of the ride. Superman (SFA) is really good if you sit in the front of the train, the back is (in my words while riding) "like a damn bucking bull!". Millennium Force is absolutely perfect and sits as my #1 coaster, so I do give Intamin credit for that and the fact that they actually have balls to try new stuff, perfect or not.

I increasingly think many B&Ms are overrated. They aren't as smooth as people say and they dohave a horrendous habit of feeling samey.

I think that's why Alpengeist and Great Bear deserve an epic shout out. They are so vastly different from the other inverts.

I agree with the whole Intamin are hit and miss thing. They are the most up and down company there is, producing some tremendous masterpieces and some utter piles of garbage.

I only rode Hydra at the front, after recommendations from Jerry, and liked it a fair bit. I prefer it to Dominator, which I think is a tad on a rough side and lacks any decent inversions. I think Bizaro is the worst floorless I've ridden, as it was just kind of uninteresting... Maybe I was distracted by it's soundtrack, which I was trying desperately to understand. I failed, btw. I personally think front row on any floorless is enough to make it a really good ride. It doesn't need to do anything else.

B&M are the best company overall, simply because you can rely on them to produce a really good coaster.

Personally I prefer B&M and like the coasters that they produce at the moment, they are all mostly reliable, smooth and very thrilling. I do like Intamin's range of varied rides, yet some aren't as good as others, whereas I think all of the B&M types, with the exception of the stand-up coaster as I am yet to ride one, are consistently good.

One more thing, it's Bolliger. ;)

ive always thought B&M was more superior with there quality and types of rides. For all types of looping coasters, B&M is number 1. They also invented the dive machine.
There mega coasters are with close competition with intamin ie nitro vs bizarro
but everything else they make is number 1 in their field!
and theyve started with the new wing-rider designs. I think people complain about B&M way too much. ive never rode a B&M and gotten off and thought or said 'meh'. i always love them. and ive never waited in line for a B&M and had it brake down on me (although im sure it still happens)
intamin however i have many bad experience with. While the rides are awesome, they need to work more on getting the dam things to work.

for example ive had fahrenheit, maverick, kingda ka and intimidator 305 brake down on me. its incredibly frustrating.
