I went to Six Flags Great Adventure yesterday with my friend Cal for the Great American Scream Machine's last day and ERT after hours to get the last rides on it. I also wanted to up my coaster count from 90. Anyway here it goes...
Rides:
Houdini's Great Escape - 1
Coasters:
Kingda Ka - 4
Rolling Thunder (Left) - 2
Bizarro - 1
Runaway Mine Train - 1
Dark Knight - 1
Batman: The Ride - 1
Nitro - 1
Skull Mountain - 1
Blackbeard's Lost Treasure Train - 1
El Toro - 1
Superman - Ultimate Flight - 1
Great American Scream Machine - 4
Houdini's Great Escape is a very interesting ride. You don't actually go upside down but it sure feels like it. I want to go on it again. I can't believe there was no line at all for it.
Kingda Ka had no line the first two times I went on it. I had never been on it, so it was pretty awesome to me. I had only been on Top Thrill Dragster before that. I really wish there was a more full ride element to Kingda Ka so that it wasn't just a launch up a tower with a hill. I still went on it 4 times. One complaint about Kingda Ka was that I had neckbanging going on during one of my rides and that hurt haha
Rolling Thunder was smoother than I remember it. I had a good amount of fun on that and got a reride. They were running both sides dueling yesterday so that was fun.
Bizarro had no effects running and it was the same as it was when I rode it as Medusa. Pretty good coaster. I like kicking about.
Runaway Mine Train was pretty painful. I semi-regretted going on it, but hey I got a coaster credit.
Dark Knight had very nice theming, but it was still just a wild mouse. I wish they would have made a custom wild mouse with a lot more unexpected elements. The designs are always pretty predictable.
Batman: The Ride was running REALLY FAST. The positive Gs were hurting. I love going fast though!
Nitro was also running very fast. That was the shortest amount of time it ever took to ride Nitro that I can remember. It was running 3 trains which was amazing.
Skull Mountain isn't bad, but the girl behind me screaming the whole time kind of ruined it for me. She screamed at the brake run.
Blackbeard's Lost Treasure Train was fun. I kept shifting from side to side in my seat and I had to hold on because my restraint was practically one clicked and I didn't feel like dying on a junior coaster.
El Toro is probably my favorite woodie now. I had no idea how smooth it was going to be. I loved the steep drop and all the crazy banking. Can't wait to ride again, just wish the wait was not as long.
Superman: Ultimate Flight was pretty painful. We also had an idiot next to us saying things like "Did you hear what happened on Superman? Somebody died" We corrected her, but she kept talking about how scared she was. The pretzel loop hurts. What can I say, the flying coaster thing lost its novelty after the first time I did it.
I never went on the Great American Scream Machine before yesterday, which is pretty funny because it was it's last day. I rode it for the first time during the ERT Event. There were 50 ACErs there, a few contest winners, and people who paid for seats on ebay and the Six Flags site, besides all of the upper and junior management. They had cake, popcorn, drinks, and hot dogs with fixins for us. I'm a vegan so I couldn't have anything but a bottle of water, but that didn't matter to me. They had stiltwalkers entertaining everyone and a band. It was pretty cool of Six Flags to pull out all the stops for this. There was also a silent auction of construction and regular photos on big posters. GASM really hurt my head, unfortunately, so I only was able to do 4 rides without getting sick from the head pain.
