Six Flags new for 2016

Bat Fastard

Hyper Poster
It's that time of the year again. Time to speculate as to what may be coming in 2016. Apparently at Great Adventure they're removing and clearing up sections of the park and the ground is being marked in places. Whatever they're getting, it's going be big. Maybe B&M Wingrider? Anyone have any ideas? What will the Six Flags parks be getting next year?

Great Adventure is getting a Solar Farm. It's been discussed before.

For my predictions, I think:

SFA: Maybe a Justice League Dark Ride? I can see them replacing their amphitheater in Gotham City with it. Or a Roar Iron Horse.

SFDK: If Six Flags finds Batman at SFFT successful, I can see SFDK adding an S&S 4D Freefly. It fits in their height limit, and it can fit in pretty much anywhere with a narrow space.

SFFT: They just got Batman. I expect nothing major. Maybe a Larson Fireball at most.

SFOT: Probably a Larson Fireball as well.

SFGAm: Either a Larson Fireball, a SkyScreamer, or a Justice League Dark Ride.

SFGAdv: Based on the fact that they're getting a Solar Farm, I expect nothing major. A new show or a Waterpark expansion.

SFMM: A 400+ foot SkyScreamer in the old Deja Vu spot would be nice.

SFM: Larson Fireball or New Show.

SFLR: Probably a SkyScreamer

SFNE: I can see them get a Tsunami Soaker type ride.

SFOG: Waterpark Expansion. Either a Tornado or a Banzai Pipelines complex.

SFStL: Iron Boss

SFGE: Larson Fireball.

Note at the amount of Larson Fireballs I predict.

That's a very uneventful 2016.

If that means La Ronde... they already have one. Its called Vol Ultime

Six Flags parks isn't really my area, but I read that two of those new launched el locos from S&S had been sold to two US parks and figured it might be part of a new clone-fest for the Six Flags chain.

I actually see those at some Cedar Fair parks, especially those with limited space and/or height ceiling. So Dorney, Michigans Adventure, Kings Dominion, Valleyfair or Worlds of Fun would be my guesses for that popping up.

As for SFGAdv, the Solar farm is being debated upon as the locals dont want the trees being destroyed, but Six Flags has promised to replant double what they cut, so I really dont know why the locals are up in a tiff over the solar farm. So while that may be on the projects for another season, there have been markings seen through the park near their Mine Train, and the water show grandstand (or whatever that building is), has supposedly been seen to be having stuff removed from it. Now while that could simply be stuff from storage they are tossing, or innards of that building itself has yet to be found out, but they are definitely prepping for something in the near future. Current rumors stem from the Mine Train being tossed and the ride being built in there (not as likely), to them opening up where Chiller used to be I think and restoring that area with a new ride/theme/item.

That actually looks like a pretty fun ride if I say so, but it'll have awful capcity unless they use the dual loading station that the Mr. Freeze clones use.

The only guess I have is a new compact coaster for La Ronde. They are seriously in need of another decent coaster and not to mention an revamp. Perhaps a S&S 4D Freefly? Its a good space saver and looks like a hell of a ride.

I expect to see quite a few dark rides, especially with those awful new DC movies coming out next year. All depending on how the reviews are for the one in St. Louis.

Probably Georgia and St. Louis are gonna get some Iron Horse, SFGAdv will get something of size, and then they will claim a scrambler is a coaster.

SFOG: Ironhorse Georgia Cyclone
SFSL: Ironhorse The Boss
SFGAdv: Solar Farm
SFMM: California Sky Screamer
SFOT, SFDK, SFMex, SFGAm: Larson Fireball marketed as a coaster
Great Escape, La Ronde, SFNE: Some sort of small flat

They already have one. It's called Dare Devil Chaos Coaster!

So... I'm all for these kinda "what U think" topics but come on, now two of you have predicted rides for parks that already have them.

La Ronde Iron horse of Monstre

Ha! As amazing as that would be, I'd consider it reasonably unlikely, considering it got new PTC trains back in 2013. If only....just like cyclone and Rattler, it has plenty of unused potential, especially in the helix (eurgh, never ridden it though)

Anyway, I think the first thing we need to address is the number of RMCs they'll install next year. At the moment, I reckon many of their woodies have a few more years in the tank, before they would be viable as Iron Horses. Boss, Roar(s) and possibly Monstre, and at the two a year rate, they'll be out of parks soon. Possibly a new RMC somewhere like La Ronde, or even SFDK, but unlikely anywhere else.

I reckon this year they'll cash into smaller, cheaper steel coasters, which pack a punch, like the S&S 4D freefly, that other weird S&S shuttle, or the premier Sky Rocket 2. Or they could go with Mack - a company they haven't really bought into yet.
Here's my (rough) list:

SFA - We know is having a waterpark expansion, so that's that. (Check Screamscape, as there are construction walls and banners)
SFOG - Iron Cyclone...the original is past its sell by date and a good candidate. They still have GASM as the classic woodie.
SFFT - Negligible, most likely a few new flats or a superloop ;)
SFDK - Negligible or a 4D Freefly (smaller)
SFGADV - S&S 4D freefly (larger), or a unique, bigger steel coaster
SFMM - Please please please be a flat of some sort. A skyscreamer would be perfect, but a frisbee would be an equally fit. Or just general improvements...two new coasters in 2 years=time for a break.
SFM - Superloop? Otherwise minor.
La Ronde - Needs a new coaster. Skyrocket 2, in preparation for Iron Monstre in a few years time...?
SFGam - Possibly a superloop, but otherwise negligible...possibly a freefly next year.
SFSl - Negligible, ready for a freefly or larger coaster next year
SFOT -Negligible.

There might well be a dark ride thrown in there too...

There we are. Just sayin' ;)

I believe I read somewhere to expect 3 RMCS in 2016 and 4 2017 and beyond though with the one in Sweden(?(I forget as I have no hope of riding it)) and the ride at folly wood assumed RMC that would leave on RMC ride left. Also, you forgot six flags great escape...

I think Six Flags has too :p
That, and SfWW are unlikely to get anything extremely significant next year...

By the way, Count me a big fan of six flags' commitment to new additions in every park year - an investment strategy like that keeps parks appealing, fresh, and prevents (ish) neglect.

Replanting new trees wont replace old cut down trees. It will take the new trees 50+ years before they reach mature height, and by then the people living nearby will either have moved out or be dead a long time ago...

I don't know what kind of trees it is or where they're situated, and hence can't comment in more detail. But I assume the trees work both as a visual and a sound barrier. Hence the removal will probably have a significant impact on the locals! And living nearby an amusement park aint that fun you wanne see it and hear it all day, every day.

SFA really needs something nicer than a waterpark expansion, it looks like a really tragic park compared to the others. It could really use a shiny new B&M or a sweet RMC conversion.

^It's really not that bad. And they just got Apocalypse(it is a relocation tho), but an RMC of Roar would be nice.

SFA would probably get another crappy coaster relocated from another SF park. :p Do they not have a boomerang? Maybe SFNE can give them Flashback (and then SFNE would no longer have two boomerangs!) ;)
