Six Flags Qiddiya | Saudi Arabia | Theme Park

I saw some comments above about Easter weekend and it's important to note that Easter doesn't exist here nor is it a consideration. It's just another operating weekend.

This issue is if you're attempting to bring international tourists in they need more than a months notice that the park is going to be closed, particularly on an extremely prominent holiday. It's not like airlines in the region don't acknowledge this, albeit only to increase their prices due to the greater demand.

Figure the footage is from Scott, but who took those pictures? Figure they can't have been on the same day(s) as the cloud cover is completely different (and unusual for that part of the world).
Scott took the photos as well.

I expect this will get better over time, though the park is working through this first season as a bit more of an experiment in terms of hours, close times, attendance, etc. Not ideal for those traveling internationally, but reaching out to the park helps (assuming they get your email-- there's a firewall issue they're dealing with now that is its own conversation).

But zero notice is also a very cultural thing. It's not unexpected for major events in the region to be announced only a week in advance. To have a calendar that shows operating times for the entire year would be entirely surprising based on other attractions in the region. They'll get there eventually as tourism becomes more international, but they've got a few years until that point, I expect.

Not that I imagine people are planning a visit imminently due to the situation in the Middle East, but when the park reopens after Ramadan ends, it will be open from 3-11pm rather than 4pm-midnight. That appears to be the plan going forward.

Interesting choice to be open earlier as they approach summer and it gets hotter. Even though Riyadh has a late-night culture, I wonder if part of it is because of the lateness involved with the closure, and allowing people to still access the Metro after park close?

Even with an 11pm, you're going to get to Jeddah Road station probably around midnight, but I wouldn't be surprised at that potential. As the waterpark opens up, I expect it will tie into that also since that will have daytime operations.

I liked the later open since it might I could go after work fairly easily and not lose a bunch of time, but this is still a reasonable amount for sure and they haven't cut the hours, which is a good sign.

Aquarabia opens in 23th of April.

For what it's worth too, the park seem to have a more settled operating pattern now...

Wednesday-Friday, and Sundays: 3-11pm
Saturdays: Noon-Midnight
Mondays, Tuesdays: Closed

At the very least, they've said they don't plan to open on Mondays or Tuesdays any time soon, and now have tickets available until end of May ish.

Not that I expect a visit is in most people's immediate plans, but there we go.

They're open Monday and Tuesday the final week of May which coincides with holidays so suggests a peak/off peak pattern.

Aquarabia, the water park next to Six Flags, opened today...

Here's an overhead look on the current progress on the 'Resort Core' of Qiddiya:

The Race track passes by both Six Flags and Aquarabia.. There's more to the Resort Core that has not been announced yet, including a rumored indoors Kids Theme Park, a Movie Theme Park, 'Jenadriyah' cultural fair/festival, and a large secret theme park. Here's how the resort core fits in the overall Qiddiya City masterplan:

Outside the resort core in the distance you can see the massive Anime World space (which would include Dragon Ball's theme park) seems construction has not yet begun.

The view from the Falcon's Flight drop is gonna look quite different soon
