Six Flags Qiddiya | Saudi Arabia | Theme Park

And luckily it was all refundable/rebookable since the park isn't open on the dates I'll be there. I was waiting for them to open up dates in February, but with not much over a week before I fly out, and still no ticket availablity, I thought I'd better get in touch with them. Nope. Closed.

I'm waiting on getting confirmation of date changes for the flights, so I'll be going at Easter now, and just booked a fairly last minute week in Dubai/Abu Dhabi instead.

Fuxake.

Are they closed for the duration of Ramadan?

Mad that something as simple as the opening dates isn't clearly shown on the website. Hopefully no enthusiasts booked flights for those dates.

Speaking of enthusiasts, an interesting thing I noticed at Qiddiya was that probably a good 50% of the guests were thoosies from western countries.

On my second day, the bus to the park was full of Brits, Americans, Europeans... not a single Arab on it. 🤣

Very strange. Still not reflected on the website so you can't buy tickets for those dates. But Fast Pass is now available again for every day bar one the next 2 weeks till the calendar ends.

The park have released a new wave of tickets which give an indication of how it will operate over Ramadan:

The park is closed 18th-21st February and 10th-17th March inclusive.
The park is open 22nd February - 9th March

During those days, the park is open from 9pm to 2am, and entrance tickets are at a reduced rate of 250SAR (about £49). The park are also running a special Iftar buffet in the evening which includes ERT: https://sixflagsqiddiyacity.com/en/explore/seasons-special-events/ramadan

On a side note, can anyone confirm if there's clear times about when the Shuttle Buses operate for return journeys on park at all? The most recent social media post stated the return buses run from 7.30-11pm every 30 mins, then 11pm-1.15am every 15 mins (see here: https://www.coasterforce.com/forums...-arabia-theme-park.42418/page-54#post-1191994). But the park's official website doesn't mention about about the after 11pm service?
Would be very weird - and frustrating - if the last bus leaves before park close...I also don't want to end up stranded..!

Are the parks over there usually busy during Ramadan?

The shuttle buses gave an 'air hostess' like presentation during the journey, mentioning the last bus left at 1am - I'm sure they'll let you know if it's any different :)

If you're planning on using the metro, that stops at midnight, but ubers from Jeddah Road are pretty cheap

Glad you had a great time bud.

How was it to navigate the whole thing without speaking the language, was it any harder than anywhere else we go? I'm just starting to get interested after years of resistance.

The metro was dead easy (once I figured out the single men have to ride in the front car) and as long as you were in the main city/theme park, the majority of people spoke at least some degree of English.

The biggest hiccup is the inconsistency around glasses straps, some staff entirely not understanding them, and one particular guy on FF going full Steel Vengeance host on me ('Show me pockets!! Show me strap!!') - but in the grand scheme of things, that's fairly minor.

At Linnanmäki, the hosts spent about 1 minute per train asking each person if their pockets were empty. There is always a place where things can get weirder :-)

I'd rather be asked about glasses-straps than not being able to ride. I am quite sensitive to light, and wear my sunglasses for most of the time, going without them in the desert could as well be a ride with my eyes closed.

A minute at most, depends on if people realized to empty their pockets themselves or not and how experienced the staff is (as a Linnanmäki season passholder) but in fairness Taiga goes over pathways and other coasters multiple times and there's no netting under the ride so if somebody were to drop coins, keys, a phone out of their pocket it could cause serious injury to someone and people yapping in the queue don't listen to the announcements about it.

Which is a funny contrast when on the scenic railway in the park there are no airgates and the restraints fly open at the end of the ride while it's still in motion and people can get out before it's stopped lol.

But at least the rules are consistently followed. I once had a train on Taiga rolled back to the station from the launch track cause someone pulled out a gopro after dispatch from their jacket. If I were to go to Qiddiya though I'd probably be forgiving about the inconsistency, even if getting frustrated about it because the park just opened and the working culture of the park hasn't formed solid yet.

So I went on Sunday. Full TR / Reviews to come soon, but some key points to throw into this thread...

-Easy to get to with public transport, even if a bit long
-Park was pretty quiet. I didn't need the Fastpass, but it definitely helped (I got 5 rides on Falcons...people I was speaking to only managed a couple for the most part)
-Reliability across the park was...pretty good, but a couple of hiccups. Falcons had a couple of shutdowns which lasted a bit of time. Iron Rattler had about 4-5 hours closed in the middle of the day. Spitfire opened 20-30 minutes late.
-Food across the park is great.

Some quick reviews...
-Iron Rattler is my favourite ride on park. Sheer Vekoma brilliance. In my Top 10 outright.
-Falcons Flight is a "moments" roller coaster; defined by exceptional moments. But the rest of the ride is great too. Top 5% ride for me.
-Spitfire is something that's felt criminally overlooked during construction - yeah it's a one trick pony style ride, but it's a damn good trick.
-I didn't like Colossus. Layout is fab tbf, but the restraints absolutely ruin the ride for me.
