The closed Miragica park in Italy caught fire late last week. Several buildings burned down and rides still at the park saw some damage. Investigators aren’t ruling out possible arson at this time. The owners had been trying to auction off the park for years without much success.

Speed of Sound at Walibi Holland valleyed yesterday. Apparently passengers were set to be evacuated from the second chain lift, but something went wrong and the train was instead sent through the remainder of the course but without enough speed to clear the cobra roll. A crane was brought in to remove the train and no injuries were reported. The park does not want to say when the coaster will re-open.

On a thread-related note, the Legoland Windsor fire was later described as “minor” and “only affecting the front exterior of the hotel”. Thankfully, no one was injured either.
