Small News From The Theme Park Industry

While I'm not surprised Drenched is going, it is a shame. That ride is one of the main reasons I discovered this website and became the enthusiast I am today. Only ever managed to ride it once but glad I did.

Unfortunately, like others have already mentioned, can't see it being replaced any time soon...

Probably end up being a car park extension imo

Oakwood won't bring anything if they open this year.

They have been building a haunted house for 2 years which has seen 0 progress tbh.

Oakwood socials have also been quiet since 24th December - I hope Megaphobia rebuild hasn't killed them off . . . . .
Hopefully it hasn’t tbh it’s got potential to be a great park. Is it still owned by Aspro?

Looks like Pleasure land Southport has rebranded into Adventure Coast Southport. New logo below:

RCDB is also listing a new "extreme" coaster under construction although no real info is given:

That track on the new logo does look a teeny bit like an SLC - another possible destination for T3? They could probably re-use foundations from Traumatizer. This is just wild speculation obviously, it will probably be yet another Pinfari looper if anything!

I know they don't have a lot of money, but it almost sounds like a chain - Adventure Coast: Southport, Adventure Coast: Skegness etc. Makes me wonder if they've formed some sort of association with other seaside parks. Good name, anyway. A new woodie on the Cyclone site and some sort of Vekoma looper on the Traumatizer site, and they'd be back in business.

Last year there were some plans for a Gerstlauer coaster, probably a Eurofighter or Infinity Coaster, but with the looks of a Zamperla Thunderbolt

This is, unfortunately, getting a bit of a tail now. Two employees of the park are suspects in a legal investigation into the accident, on the count of negligent homicide.

The charges against the two employees have now been dropped, citing lack of evidence.

Legoland Billund have submitted planning applications for a new coaster (project name LLB2), which will replace the Vikings river splash. They hope to open the new coaster in 2026. The Area is set to be 4000 square meters. Water draining will begin in a few weeks.

Warner Bros. Discovery, in partnership with Jinjiang International, plans to open a Harry Potter Studio Tour in Shanghai's Jinjiang Action Park in 2027. The interactive experience, similar to those in Tokyo and London, will feature iconic sets and activities based on the films. The park closed on Jan. 26th and is undergoing major renovations. It will reopen in 2027 with the Harry Potter attraction as a centerpiece. Source

Kynren have announced a new historical Puy-du-Fou style park for County Durham in North East England - the night show has ran for 10 years but this is the expansion into a full park and a daytime offering.

Holiday Park is considering a name change to Plopsaland Germany, according to internal staff memos. The new Plopsa management apparently sees the park as a flagship property going forward and so wants to bring it under the same banner as the De Panne park. No final decision has been made yet.

To be honest they are both pretty terrible sounding names in English - one very dull and generic, the other is the sound a poo makes. Hopefully they sound better in the local tongues!
