March 1st Update!

Today's Terminator update begins with a shot of the first drop looking pretty much complete!

Here's the signauture overview shot thanks to Mr. Sky Tower.

You can see a lot of REALLY BIG popsicle sticks stitting out there. Lift Hill perhaps?

More popsicle sticks. The supply is certainly getting depleted. They need to send out more decepticons to collect energon in order to create more.

This area still looks about the same.

Not much has changed here.

From the fround level it looks very similar to last week.

Today was a BEAUTIFUL day to be at the park!

Here's an update from the rest of the park....

I'm kind of bummed the bridge got removed. It really seemed to add something to this area.

Does anyone know what used to be here? The first 5 people to email the answer to Dan win a TPR Bag-of-Crap! The first person to send a PICTURE to Dan of what used to be here gets a HUGE box of crap! EMAIL DAN: [email protected]

I can't help thinking that Terminator should be the most imposing thing in the area for it to work as its theme, and Deja Vu just looks bigger and better. Maybe that will change once construction is complete.

I like the bridge, but I can't help to think it's a bit narrow.

Today we heard a lot of nail smacking going on.

Looks like the lift hill is nearly complete.

This has to be the most dense GCI ever built!

saw the ride or terminator the ride whats stupider?

I would probably have to say Terminator only reason is because the ride is made of wood! if this coaster was steel or had some kind of steel supports like Gemini reversed (steel track wooden supports). Now Saw the ride sounds corny but the ride fits the theme "head choppers" "gut wrenching" turns. it has loops. Terminator wooden coaster anybody seen a terminator made of wood? Bad theming job there. hate to say it but Six Flags desperately needed an advertisement to get people to go to the park. Just like The Dark Knight indoor coaster (mistake); one year after its out the name for the ride is pointless.

May 3rd - Terminator Salvation: The Ride UPDATE!

Hey everyone! We are back from our trans Atlantic cruise, so that means more Terminator updates for all of you!

There has been a TON of progress in the past couple of weeks! Check it out below, but you'll see the station fly-by, transfer track area, lots of buildings being framed (I'm assuming pre-show buildings), what looks like the first pieces of area theming on site, and the entrance SIGN!

And something very interesting appears to be happening on the ride...but read the update below to find out! (Oh, and be sure to try to answer the Email Dan question!)

Oooh! We have SIGN!

Here is today's cyber-cam shot. As you can see the ride is almost done!

Quite a difference a few bulldozers, new wood and a couple of years make, huh? =)

Work is being done on the station (to the left) and the transfer track area (to the right)

You can already see some queue is getting set up, and hmm...what is that I see...let's take a closer look...

Could this be...theming???

Have a look at the sign and the bridge.

Zoom out just a little and you can see something being built just on the other site of the bridge. What could that be?

Another look at the current construction. Lots of framework going up. I wonder what those could be for? Pre-show buildings? On-ride photos?

Hmm...looks like another building getting renovated? (Or even demolished?) Maybe this will be Terminator Salvation: The Shop!

With all this goodness going on, in the "disappointing" category, the restrooms by the ride opened back up, and while some work was done (new stall doors, etc) they didn't look that much better than before. There wasn't even a baby changing station! C'mon, SFMM, if you're going to be "family friendly" you should be adding the things that families need that you'll find at other parks!

And from the other side of the bridge you can see some more work being done.

Looking really nice. I love my GCI's and this certainly looks like a great layout. I'll be curious to see how far they carry that theme they seem to be starting. There's a lot they could do, I suppose.
Looks like a really fantastic ride... I can't wait to see some reviews to how this one compares to some of the other GCI stuff.

I've got a feeling those bits of wood is incase anything flies off the ride (like hats, wallets etc) and flies towards Deja Vu, as that ride is pretty close by.


But is looking awesome! I still find it funny that Goliath sign is just lying about.

May 10th Terminator Update

Here is today's overview shot. As you can see a lot of work on the station, the transfer track, the pre-show buildings, and the entrance.

Mr. Big Crane is back in action!

Not much wood yet. There are some trains down there, but you can't see them because the ride is blocking the view!

Here's where a lot of this week's work has been done. Lots of work on the station, transfer, and show buildings.

The ride entrance has gotten some love. Looks like they are going to funnel people through the shop as you exit.

Here you can see the proximity from Psyclone's old entrance and Terminator's new entrance.

Queue areas got some shade and some barrels have been added.

You can see the beginnings of a tunnel that will come right after the station fly through. Maybe we'll see some effects in there? Fog? Lighting? Let's hope so!

Lots of people are on hand today to get this thing done!

Looks like lockers going in just on the other side of the bridge? That's my guess anyway.

What could that strange tall box be for? Onride camera? Handicap elevator? Terminator homing device?

KidTums says "Yay! Now I can ride a B&M floorless!"

Back on ground view now...this looks about the same...

Although a new backstage door has been put in.

Gee, it's really good that I didn't need to change Kristen's diaper being that there isn't a changing area in this "renovated" bathroom. C'mon Magic Mountain, couldn't you have sprung for the $180.25 Dollars that it would have cost to add this? "Renovated Bathroom" = FAIL!

I see some new barbed wire has gone up at the ride entrance.

The coaster is looking great. I'm impressed with what all they're doing in terms of queue stuff. Looking forward to see how that turns out.

Wow, the area is looking great, and the tunnels etc.! Pleasantly surprised. I still haven't made up my mind on the trains, but, only three months until I can sit in them, I'll leave judgement to then!

I still don't understand why someone would build a wooden coaster and make the theme Terminator. When I think Terminator I think metal and futuristic, and this just doesn't fit in with that.
