The Intimidator. B&M Hyper 2010 - Carowinds

It's about time. I can't wait to see some ground level pictures though.

Actually, I wouldn't mind seein train pictures either ;)

Yeah.. I'm curious about the trains. One good thing, I305 and Timmy have similar styles, so we will know what to expect from the other.

Although I'm sure the ride will be a hit next season, I do agree with UC's assessment of the ride and feel like it's going to be pretty tame by hyper coaster standards. I think it helps round out Carowinds' attraction list and completely ****s Hard Rock Park - but as a coaster enthusiast Im about 10 times more excited for whats coming to Virginia than I am for Sailboat - The ride down in the Carolinas.

Sailboat - The ride
Haha, couldn't have said it better myself! Unfortunately it looks really boring.. What happend to B&Ms new thinking?? They used to build the most extreme rides on the market like Batman the Ride, Nemesis and Dragon Kahn. Nowdays they seem kind of lame and only build models similar to the ones they've already built.. I know that you can't compare a hyper with a looper, but I think they at least could have made the hills sharper for stronger airtime and put in some more turns and helixes to make the ride somewhat more exiting!

Parks are looking for those big steel airtime machines rather then those small epic thrill rides. This will really be the signature of the park, along with DBack and Behemoth.

As far as their design.. just look at what UC said.

I know the V-shaped seating is narrower than the normal 4-across seating, but those trains look really narrow. I quite like the design, the shaping etc, but they look very thin.

Fugly trains right there. I hope I305 don't end up being that nasty.. but I think they probably will.

Talk about a step down from DBack's epic trains.

The coasters are NASCAR themed, so I don't know what you were expecting.
The parks are located in the South where NASCAR is the region's most popular sport, so I'm sure the trains will be a big hit.
Still doesn't change the fact that they are fugly. :p

I think we need to wait until the trains are completely unwrapped from the shrink wrap and have some decals slapped on them. I like the colors, but the shape, I'm not too sure about yet. I'm going to wait until they're sitting on the transfer track first before I decide whether I like them or not.

Why would we need to wait? You can see exactly how they look right now. Adding decals aren't going to make these things look any better.

Haha, FAIL.

It's kinda hard to see what it really looks like through the plastic wrap, but it does look like the type of car that would go on a NASCAR themed ride. They are pretty ugly, though.

I thought you americans would like a nascar themed ride ;) to us europeans nascar is impenetrable, going round and round in circles all the time make no sense at all.. ^^

A F1 themed ride on the other hand (like Speed Monster, iSpeed etc) that would have been cool! cool)

^ correction: southern Americans (i.e. Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi you know the Deep South) would be thrilled by a NASCAR ride

^He is correct.

NASCAR may be the most boring sport ever.. right behind soccer. Northerners and any people sane only watch Sportscenter to check out the crashes and the finish.
