Never heard of "Settee" before this topic, you really learn something new every day :)
This

Couch or sofa depending on the size (as sofas are a bit smaller) unless it's a love seat, which only allow for two to sit comfortably.

I guess love seat is a silly Americanism, but I like it.

So I have no idea what I call it, but it will be a mix fo the three at any time completely randomly.

So you never say "chair" or "seat"? :p

I normally use sofa, but will use settee if my nan/grandad are around, or will use seat or chair if trying to describe where something is ("it's on the chair!"...etc.).

Never couch though, as that's just silly!

Not when describing the sofa/settee/couch because that would be a sign of gross stupidity. A chair is something very different and "seat" is far too ambiguous.

I love the way people avoid couch, despite it being the most correct term

As long as it's never called a loveseat*, we're all fine ;)

A chaise lounge is also a very particular type of seat too, but you can get couches with a chaise lounge part :)

*I know about these, it's one of those fantastically dull bits of knowledge I carry around like useless baggage (a little like having Nic trailing you around a theme park). This is a love seat:

^ I'd say that was a bench, darling :).

Feel free to join Mike in the thicky corner then ;)
The seats are opposing so you can put your arms around each other and tongue the lungs from one another, darling

I've called it a sofa for as long as I remember. We used to have a sofa-bed too, which I miss because it was RIDICULOUSLY comfy. It'd sound silly calling it a "couch-bed" or "settee-bed".

Sofa or settee, but mostly sofa.

Couch just sounds... wrong...

Usually sofa, also as it's soffa in Finnish and Swedish, but I remember I've said couch sometimes as well and neither have I heard of settee before.

Well, when someone asks you "Where's the thingymabob?", perhaps "On the chair" would be the best answer! ;)

Surely not. It's more of a "we're mad at each other and can't stand to see each other's faces anymore, and must now face away from one another before we drive each other mad and resort to physical violence" seat.

I agree with Jerry as far as love seats go. At least you can make love on a love seat, unlike the one you showed (unless you're really crafty or flexible..)

We were looking at this in DT for A-Level, it's pure awesome:

BEST. CHAIR. EVER.
