Re: Busch Gardens Williamsburg |"Verbolten"| Multi-Launch Zi
The two times I rode on Sunday we had a different show. I'm told there are 3 different ones. It was a huge surprise and what a fantastic way to make a narrative based ride a reridable experience. It really gives that sense of having your own story and part in the experience.
It's good fun. It's completely different to everything else in the park and that makes it awesome in itself. The theming is high standard and entertaining. The launches pack a punch, the indoors section is outstanding - it's pitch black bar uv lights on theming, intense, disorientating and you loose all sense of space. The changing effects are confusing and leave you wondering when the drop is going to happen. The actual drop is meh in my opinion, not better than Thirteen, but the rest of the experience is so mind blowingly superior to Thirteen it's not worth the complaint.
It's not an outstanding roller coaster, but it's in the very good category. And it being so different and well done is really awesome. It's rattling quite a lot on the slow sections of track, but it feels like new needs to be worn in roughness to me. Only other complaint is that the main drop over the river is meh, it rides exactly like it looks in the videos. But this ride is totally about the indoors section so I don't really care.
The queue moves fast, just like all Busch's lines. Kyle tells me that park can get so insanely busy to the point where you can barely move, but nothing ever has a long queue. I figure Verbolten is going to be prone to longer queues than the other coasters, because apparently Wolf was - and I guess that's down to the broad audience. We queued about 20-25 mins for it both times on Sunday, which for a brand new coaster is nothing. We'll see how it does in the next few weeks.
