Yep, frustrating about sums up GT5 :lol:

Actually, I have played a fair amount of B-Spec. I had a bad head for a while, so just stuck it on while I laid around. It's even MORE frustrating than the actual game.

You give your driver your beast of a car that you won with no problem, and you driver can't even place tenth in an eight car race :roll: At least when you screw up, you know it's your fault. Still, it's won me some really useful cars which has eased other frustrations ;)

In other news, I'm ranked number 74 in the world on "Children of the Revolution" on Rock Band 3 vocals! Hurrah :lol:

I guess I was number 74 out of the 74 people who downloaded the track ;)
 
Just been playing a smidgen of Splatterhouse.

At first I was like this is kinda meh, the voice acting is kinda cheesy and the fighting is alright. Then it hit me.

JIM ****ING CUMMINGS.

OMFG, HE'S SWEARING. I JUST HEARD TIGGER SWEAR. HOLY ****. MOUNTED WALL ANIMALS LAUGHING. EVIL ****ING DEAD 2. ALL IT NEEDS IS A POSSESED HAND.

Mind blown.

If you're struggling on GT5, they've foolishly removed all the tuning restrictions on the seasonal events so you can buy a car new, tune it and then walk a race which gives you a million credits. 5 different races at different levels.

I built most of my money doing specials; almost completed A spec if you ignore the endurance events (**** doing a full 24 hour event, I got bored doing a 60 lap one), just need to do the horrendous Formula GT challenge series and the Historic Racing Car Cup series.
 
Kingdom Hearts RE:Coded is out... So I bought it. I thought it was Japan Cell phones only so it was a nice surprise.

Edit: Hey what Kingdom Hearts 3D?

(may have mentioned this at E3. Can't remeber that far back, Child of Eden was much more important)
 
This is a nice postmortem of TR: Angel of Darkness, and the story behind quite how it ended up being as bad as it did. Interesting read, sad story.

You're basically at the same point in the game as me. Although I've done the Historic Racing Car Cup. Just the Formula GT to go.

I think I prefered the Seasonal Events before the restriction though. It was much more of a challenge to get gold. Even now, when running the cars stock, its still not as difficult as it was before to get gold on the new events.
 
Just bought the Sly Racoon trilogy HD.

I enjoyed the first one on PS2 and pleased to say I am enjoying it just as much playing through it again in HD on the PS3, really fun games and haven't aged at all :)
 
Went to Game Stop & pre-ordered the Bulletstorm Epic Edition (mostly for the Gears of War 3 beta). For those interested, the Bulletstorm demo comes to Xbox Live & the PlayStation Network on January 25th.

The FIFA 11 Live Season All Leagues & Madden NFL 11 Max Pack DLC (as well as a bunch of other EA stuff) is 50% off on both networks through January 24th.
 
I got GT5.

It's kewl. It'a the first ever Racing game I did manual in... maybe it's because I've started to drive.

In other news, I've been playing lots of Dragon Age: Origins.

It's cracking.
 
I played Dead Space a while ago and I hated the way it controlled. Ever since then I've dismissed it and been generally uninterested in it.

Dead Space 2's marketing campaign is actually ****ing amazing and I think I might grit my teeth and put up with dead space 1 to try it out.

Been playing GT5 lots and I must say I have really got into it now. It is too easy but it is fun as well, the special events are quite hard.

I am at a stage though where I need to earn credits to get cars I need :( so I am having to do some races again.

But yeah must better than I thought.
 
Few things Marc.

1. Play the seasonal events. The prize money is much higher than the standard races. Even if you don't have a car for it, it's worth buying one and tuning it to win. I think I won £1,000,000 on a Ford GT with a total spend on it of about £250,000.

2. You only need to buy 5 cars to complete the entire game (one is a Mini, another a Ferrari, the Gallardo and two others that escape me now). So you don't need money to buy cars.

3. You have to complete all the Special Events and Licenses to do this. It gives you the cars and experience you need to help you move on. Experience off a Special Event is higher than off the races.

4. You also need to do B-Spec mode :(. I do this while I'm watching TV. I drop my driver into an uber car for the class and set him off. Then I watch TV for ten minutes, pause and switch back to the PS3 to get my driver doing more.

This will be easier in a couple of weeks. They're setting up a Remote B-Spec mode which will allow you to run B-Spec races from a web browser :)

I loved a lot of the Special events and licenses because they really challenged me. They were the highlight of the game until I unlocked some of the seriously silly cars. Most of them it's an easy drone around the track, then you play with something like the Ford GT on a winding track and the game is buzzing. It's all on the edge racing, and with a wheel, it's sublime. Those are tough races where you are pulling the car back from a loose slide at 120 mph with reverse lock and trying to get it straight before you hit the next corner.

It's superb at that point and the game changes once you hit those higher, faster levels (and that Gallardo is a bitch).

So yeah, you only need to buy five cars. Sometimes you have to move up a level of competition in maybe B-Spec to complete a lower level in A-Spec (You win a classic racing car in B-Spec at the top tier "Like the Wind" race which you use in A-Spec Professional level - the cars cost £20,000,000 if you want to buy one).

So my point still stands, the game is inaccessible for people just wanting to race cars. It's an RPG with the need for knowledge and experimentation off the track vital to your success - I don't like it personally, but I guess it's part of what Gran Turismo is about?
 
Mayb e thats why I like GT 5. Theres just something about running around blindly and figuring out what I need to do that I enjoy.

Also I need help. Where can I get a pre-1979 3japanese car?
 
You need to win the A-Spec (Amateur) Supercar Nostalgia event. You'll win a Dome Zero Japanese car you can then use to win the A-Spec (Beginner) Japanese Classic event which will win you a 1970 Honda Z Act you can use in the light weight K-Cup :)

I thought the fun was blindly figuring this out for yourself Kim? :p

Ah, the historic racing cup is a right bitch, but it is possible with a '69 Camaro, or a Lamborghini Countach if you get ahead on the first corner...
