Six Flags Qiddiya | Saudi Arabia | Theme Park

Yup probably won't happen. But just in case.

A couple of poor quality images showing roughtly the same thing with slightly different quality but showing the layout of the park

Things to note.
1) Thats woodie on the right in Grand Exposition is a clone of the one heading to Six Flags China which we already know is a GCI design.
2) Vekoma SFC Orkanen layout in City of Thrills
3) Mack Posiedon model in Steam Town
4) The massve coaster appears to run round the south and east of the park.

Cant really parse the other layouts from such crap images but there we are

It's interesting looking at this and seeing how accurate it was too!

Whatever you say about records not being everything, or however you feel about the park itself, this ride does look truly insane! That cliffside drop and giant airtime hill will be like nothing else out there, and I still can’t quite get over the fact that the ride goes down a huge drop and then launches further downwards… the acceleration effect of a launch that is working with gravity rather than against it could feel absolutely ludicrous, I feel!

Principally, in an era where it feels like so many parks are cutting back, I absolutely love the spirit of “we’ve got this insane idea, let’s just go ahead and make it happen”. It feels like a nice flashback (if I’d been around in this era to witness it) to the maximalism and bombast in the coaster industry of the 1990s and 2000s. We don’t get many rides like this built anymore, and as someone who regrets the fact that I wasn’t around to see this golden age of brilliant, bombastic record breaking coasters, I love that the construction of Falcon’s Flight is giving me a taste of what that era was like!

Here's the full video release. Definitely one of the most epic coaster inaugurations.

It's amazing what $1B can buy you these days. 😜

I'm still curious to see a proper, daylight POV. Still have reservations about the pacing and general cadence of element sequence, especially for the roaming airtime hills before the second lift launch, and after the arch. Stats don't lie, and the sheer speed and height give plenty to want - but I also don't have a roller coaster over 215 ft. or 75 MPH in my top 10 (Formula Rossa is at #16, TT2 #20, Gigas scattered through the teens), still giving priority to reridability and pacing.

Same, I've long wondered how good this ride would actually be (not that it wont be good I mean the speed alone but what about the forces?) and we're all different but yeah pacing and "flow" matter to me, this is kinda like someone in no limits who plopped random stuff down and that meandering around the cliff top... What does intrigue me is the 100 mph launch uphill and basically the second half. Even the 600+ foot drop is kinda unusual with its long gradual part but I'm very intrigued by the "traditional" 519 foot drop that must be insane and the second half you are moving with such speed! Even if they slow you at parts it looks insane. Said before, I'd rather just start with the launch uphill. I'm sure it'd still break the length record.

But no doubt, it's a technical achievement and deff why it's good to sit on top of a bunch of oil lol

They reaaaaallly teasing us with the day time non ceremony POV lol but that's nuts.
Still unsure about the first half and the mountain top meandering but that launch up the cliff and second half is mental. Even with some trims that thing is hauling major ass. So damn curious your speed at the bottom of that hill.

Nice seeing a proper FF POV. Some additional impressions:
  1. That thing yeets over the first lift launch! Strong Maverick vibes for how that will feel going over the first hill.
  2. First half still feels meandering, hoping daytime yields something more than overbanked blah.
  3. Second lift launch’s speed is so hard to still sense, but it’s definitely faster than I anticipated!
  4. I will be curious how the hold brake feels. On one hand, coming to a standstill lets the sightline sink in. It could also make for weird choppiness in drop flow.
  5. Love the high speed pass to finish, and cutting so much lower to the ground than I thought it would. Strong Formula Rossa vibes there, and the sense of speed you’ll have. ❤️
Looking better with a proper video.

I'm sure some coaster nerds will complain about it not having much airtime or being too meandering but I bet it will be a big hit with the general public.

Really this thing is just a scenic railway on steroids. It's about a journey and the feeling of flying and extreme speed at the same time as seeing and travelling round the whole park.

Where else are you going to experience a 200+ vertical drop into an insane headchopper and then be boosted even faster while still going downwards and close to the ground?

The luckiest people will be those that get to experience an E-stop and swing launch though.

Ok practically the ride after the airtime hill is mostly there to get back to the station whilst bleeding off some speed so it doesn't have to have a 200 foot tall brake run but it will still feel stupidly fast.

I was thinking the same, the second half is going to feel like a longer Formula Rossa just insane speed throughout the corners.

Looks incredible.

Daytime POV:

This is what we've been waiting for!
Wow, first half moves a little quicker than imagined, does peter out and I maintain its kinda there for the sake of it but jesus....that 100 mph (if accurate) uphill launch, the boosted while already accelerating, and the speed through that 2nd half, even with some trims! That's unhinged. I'll give credit, they did it well. You can't really move at 150 mph but instead of scrubbing it off asap, or making it part of a swing launch, they let you feel it but slowly ease it off in a pretty natural way while still allowing for legit elements and keeping that sense of speed.

Sense of speed is huge for me, part of why I still love MForce so I gotta say I am loving that second half.

The main drop is looking weirder and weirder with coverage. 😅 I'm sure it's a breathtaking entry, but the launch at the bottom is what looks to really be the ticket/acceleration that takes your breath away. The full stop at the top still gives me strong B&M Dive Machine vibes. Great for the views, 6/10 on drop sensation.

IDK, the more coverage we're getting to see, the clearer and clearer it is that LSMs make the magic happen for the drop and arch. This is really just an imposter Intamin Accelerator Coaster. :P

The trains here are a fair bit longer than the Dive Coaster cars. I can imagine there's still going to be some whip over the drop in the back row.

But yeah, this coaster is all about the sense of speed and I like that it maintains a lot of it after the arch. That bit looks more exciting than it is on the meandery Rossa.
