Six Flags Qiddiya | Saudi Arabia | Theme Park

I'm close to booking for February half term...yesterday the park did a social media post just for Falcons Flight (albeit still without showing anyone on the ride), so that gives me a level of confidence that they're confident it will open. I would like to see actual footage of people on the ride though, just to give me a bit of extra 'yes, this is happening' hope.

The Falcons Flight post stated the ride's records, which most importantly includes the "world's longest coaster cooling system", which theme parks around the world fight for.

February is during Ramadan. I would not advise you to travel in any Muslim majority country during Ramadan. A lot of thing as close during the day, and they fast until
9pm there not like Muslim in Europe.

Is there anything else worth riding nearby? seems like a bunch of kiddy creds in shopping malls, and a skyrocket 2, is there anything actually decent? Would it be easy to visit the park via public transport or is renting a car the best way?

Theres some interesting stuff around including the works first S&S axis coaster whenever that opens and probably the world's most unique shuttle loop in Damman. But nothing on this scale.

Ramadan starts 17th February next year, so the first half of February will be unaffected. It is a good point though, and will be interesting to see if there's any differences in how the park choose to operate.

The park have said they'll have a free shuttle bus from Jeddah Road Metro Station, which itself is on the outskirts of Riyadh and about a 40 minute journey to the park. But it's not clear how often the return trips are, or when they stop.

From what I've heard the Metro network is good, but it comes with the caveat that it stops running at midnight. With the park open till 1am, and not many hotels near Jeddah Road Station, it does leave you with a few choices to make if you chose public transport. I have heard that Uber/Careem is pretty good in Riyadh, but haven't been able to work out prices.

The biggest issue I'm encountering with trip planning is finding suitable hotels. They either vary from incredibly expensive to incredibly cheap and poorly rated, to just being in inconvenient locations. It's definitely proving to be the biggest stumbling block for trip planning at the moment.

I agree with that - since the opening was announced, I've realised just how fascinating this place looks - but it's clear that the park is well ahead of the 'resort' infrastructure - transport, accommodation etc. That, combined with my pessimism telling me that there will be teething problems with at least one coaster is why I've managed to hold off!

The best plan I'd been able to come up with involved ubers - probably not cheap, but a lot less stress and also makes the choice of hotel easier.

I really look forward to seeing people's reports from this place - I suspect I'll end up there before next year is out :D

Yeahhh, let's just say planning to be there for the second day of operations is generally not advisable for the area (https://coasterforce.com/forums/thr...errari-world-and-warner-bros-abu-dhabi.46108/). :P

Super interesting to see the new Falcon's Flight footage too, especially the massive cooling ducts for the ride station! Friendly reminder of the challenge A/C and keeping riders comfortable is for the region; I remember Flying Ace's funny solution of having shutting doors just before the air gates to provide best insulation and "inside air conditioning". The doors open and you expect some additional queuing, but rather are facing the ride's train itself!

Two months ago, there was a post in Linkedin that estimated that Aquarabia Hotel would be completed in January 2026.

Aquarabia feels like it can meet that. The hotel will absolutely not be ready in January. That's probably a mid-year thing, I'd say.

Park is looking good, though. I visited yesterday, and just made a trip report in the TR section. Hope you enjoy!

We live in a time where Six Flags Qiddiya has not only managed to happen somehow, but also is iROC certified 🤣

The ops team leadership does come from a pretty strong background from UK theme parks to UAE and Malaysia-- although they still have a lot to learn, I'm hopeful it will end up being an alright park from an operations standpoint.

Really stoked on that GCI - seems to hit a lot of their best design elements between good straight drop and high-g turns. Really dig the Schilkesque outter banker turn popped in the middle!

You’d think that the world’s tallest, fastest and longest coaster would be the sole thing to go for this park for, but I have to say that both Iron Rattler and Colossus look like hits in themselves! They both look absolutely brilliant!

The theming looks nice, if on the lighter side as is often the case for Six Flags, but it does look like this park will pack an impressive coaster lineup, if nothing else!

Am I right in saying that Saw Mill Falls is very similar in layout to Poseidon? I’m not sure it’s identical, but it looks very similar!

Iron Rattler really does look like the complete package as a thrill coaster. I'm sure it would be in a lot of enthusiasts top 10s if it was at a park in the US/Europe.

Saw Mill Falls is roughly similar to Poseidon but not identical.

- It has the new track type so is presumably smoother.

- The bit out of the station is a bit different.

- The first curved drop after the first lift is much steeper and goes closer to the ground on Saw Mill Falls.

- The next curved drop after the first MCBR is steeper, tighter and more banked on Saw Mill Falls.

- Poseidon has another MCBR before the twisty drop which Saw Mill Falls doesn't have.

- The next water section is similar-ish but not identical.

- Saw Mill falls doesn't have the janky weird profiling on the straight drop which Poseidon has (the best bit of Poseidon).
