Six Flags Qiddiya | Saudi Arabia | Theme Park

Well, I've booked a trip for January. I was originally going to spend 2 days in UAE on the way out and one day on the way back for Ferrari world, motiongate etc, but it actually seems impossible to book that combination with Etihad as it just kept saying the flights were unavailable when trying to book it as a multi city trip.

Good news is, if you choose return flights to Riyadh and select a 2 day stopover in Abu Dhabi as an option, you get a free hotel, which for me has ended up being a 5 star one called Grand Millennium Al Wahda. I won't have the extra day on UAE coming back, bit it seems a decent deal and avoids flying long haul with Pegasus which was the cheapest option and had rubbish flight times.

Figured I'd share in case anyone is looking at doing a similar trip.

Also, does anyone have ideas of other stuff to do in Riyadh, seeing as the park doesn't open until the evening?

yeah there's a couple of things you can do, you have, Boulevard World ( there's a sky rocket clone there) and next to it there's Boulevard city it a nice place to have lunch or coffee in, and if you want something historical you have Bujairi Terrace ( bunch of museums and cafes and restaurants) and Murabba Historical Palace

I've got a trip now booked for just before Ramadan starts. Sadly no free 5* hotel with my flights, but I was able to get a decent price with KLM (including a short stop in Amsterdam).

I was wondering if it's worth creating a separate Trip Planning thread for more broad planning? That way it doesn't get lost in park conversations so easier for people to find, and doesn't de-rail thread completely!

Real, but not an opening for the ride; rather announcing a partnership with STC - The Saudi Telecom Company:

As an aside, the account is actually quite good for seeing updates of the park and Qiddiya City in general. One of their posts says how Sirocco Tower will have 3 modes:
-Shot tower (launch to the top, go down slowly)
-Drop tower (climb up slow, drop quickly)
-Shot n Drop tower (launch up, drop quickly)

Opening ceremony on the 29th:

Which is curiously several days after it soft-opened but 2 days before it officially opens, so a kind of halfway house

Was considering booking a last-minute flight for opening day now that Falcons is seemingly operating with people...but there are no park tickets available anymore for the 31st Dec.

There are tickets for the 1st Jan, but I'd be worried about it doing a Hyperia and closing after 1 day with teething issues.

Back to my original plan of February I think.

Some good value flights for Feb but I think that's the most risky time to go. If there are any major issues it will probably run for a week or so in Jan before a lengthy closure.
