Journey is delicious. Completed it yesterday morning and then went back around to complete it again (though I didn't in the end, found those annoying portals instead  ).
It's such an odd gaming experience, really is like nothing else. The mechanics are simple and there's no "death", but it's just so wonderful to play. The atmosphere is simply sublime, the flow is wonderful and the tension of those "light-head monsters"? OMG! I guess Flower is similar, but Journey just simply works. You can replay it because the gaming mechanism is so much fun.
I loved the whole multiplayer experience too. My first time through, I met a guy who had beat the game before, and he was communicating with me how to work through some parts. It was like finding a mentor on, well, a journey into the unknown. Then I played through the last couple of levels with another bod, and he was on his first trip, so I mentored him. It's just stunning, it really is.
It's very short though, but that's like saying Pulp Fiction isn't worth buying on DVD because it's only 3.5 hours long. We often get a lot of value in terms of time out of a game for what we pay. Here, you get a more movie type of entertainment and tale. It's impossible to rate, but it has to be a 9/10.
I also picked up Wrecked, the next-gen version of the superb living room fun/killing/racing game Mashed. It's still the most fun four people can have in one room with four controllers. We spent an hour and a half having "just one more go" on Sunday night. It's just jam packed with entertainment.
Basically, it's a long view top down racing game, with four of you on simultaneously. You pick up weapons, or can side-swipe people off the track (or just leave them to skid off on their own). You lose if you come off the track or end up too far behind (there's a killer line following that wipes you out if you lag). The weapons hinder you or force you off or too far behind. The joy comes not from just the all out madness on the track floor, but from what happens when you die. You get given a cross-hair and can continue taking out vengeance on the other racers on the track.
You can hold grudges if you like, and go for the person who finished you off. However, it becomes tactical with you trying to stop the person who has won most rounds from winning more. It's difficult to put into words how exceptionally fun and frantic the system is, but believe me, the game is just awesome with four of you.
Single player is pretty sucky though. It's just a series of trials and isn't very interesting (or consistent). Maybe two or three hours there depending on how much you want gold trophies - but it's mostly a chore (even the caravan races).
On-line multiplayer also sucks, with lag stopping the fun, but mostly simply because you can't swear at the person killing you; or laugh in their face as you take them out. It's a social game.
So, if you've got three friends and still do the "meet up regularly in a room" thing (and four controllers) it's probably the most fun you'll ever have with this console generation together. Beyond that? Not worth the tenner. So 1000/10 for four player, but probably 7/10 overall.
